Bernice Young Obituary

Bernice Barbara Grabelski Young, 90, passed away on January 26, 2024, in Collierville, TN. She was born on December 22, 1933, in Bristol, CT, the third child to Vincent and Stella Grabelski.

She attended Terryville High School and upon graduation, enlisted in the United States Air Force. While serving our country together, Bernice met and married her husband, Bobby Fowler and raised three children in Memphis, TN.

Bernice was an avid gardener and did not miss her daily fulfillment of music. In addition, she was a great lover of books and traveled to many countries abroad. However, she always regarded her trip to Israel and the Holy Land as the most significant among her travels. She was also a member of Grace Evangelical Church where she found great joy in managing the Resource Room for many years.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Young; parents, Vincent and Stella Grabelski; and brother Carl Grabelski. She leaves behind, her sisters, Dorothy Grabelski Mackiewicz and HelenGrabelski Campbell; three children, Lisa Young Johnson, Cathy Young, and Robert Young; three grandsons, Drew Johnson, Jacob Young, and Justin Young; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family that she spoke of often and loved dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
