Vester Smith Obituary
Vester M. Smith, Jr. age 81 of Carlisle passed away Tuesday March 12, 2024. Vester retired from Dayton Hard Chrome. He was preceded in death by his wife Janet Smith in 2018 and son Jerry Smith in 2011. Surviving is his son Jeff and wife Dana Smith of Carlisle, sister Rita Lynch, 3 grandchildren Jeff Smith, Jr., Shari Smith, Kalie Smith and great-grandchild Shelby Spencer. Funeral services are today Friday March 15, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Sanner Funeral Home 800 So. Alex Rd. West Carrollton, OH 45449. Pastor James Anderson will be officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services (12 noon- 1 p.m.). Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery Miamisburg.

I sat under many sermons preached by Vester Smith and felt the spirit so strong, he was a great preacher, I had a lot of respect for him, I heard him at Faith Baptist and Cornerstone Baptist along with Frank Kelly, I started going to those churches in 1998 when I was right out of high school and continued to visit over the next 20 years and think a lot of both of them. I believe that Vester Smith was truly born again as Jesus once spoke of when talking to Nicodemus and I believe that Vester's trials are over and he is with God, Vester you did your best to try to get people saved and now have gone to meet your reward. God bless you Vester and thanks for taking my wife to church when she was just a little girl and being the kind soul you were, to this day she also still has the deepest respect for you and Vester if you see dad tell him hi and that I love him and miss him...

My deepest condolences to Vester's family. I knew Vester from cornerstone Baptist church when brother Frank Kelly was pastor. I knew him and Janet, they were one of the nicest people I've ever met, may God be with you at this very sad time.
