Jean Billingsley Obituary

Jean Harris Billingsley, 86, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 3:37 in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. She will be remembered as a loving and kind-hearted person, who was also sharp, quick-witted, and funny in her own quirky way.

Professionally, she began a longstanding career with Leader Federal Bank as a teenager. After many years of service to the bank, she flourished as President and CEO of Jean Billingsley Personnel Consultants, a successful employment agency that placed qualified candidates in key roles for major companies in Memphis, Tennessee.

She was a devout Christian who faithfully attended Collierville First Baptist Church. Throughout her life, she always spoke fondly of Pastor Herring, his sermons, and several members of her beloved church family. She participated in exercise classes and was always thrilled by the beautiful music rendered by her church's orchestra.

Her grace, sophistication and distinctive moral values will be sorely missed by her nephews: Jon Barry Harris (Rose) and Shannon Dale Harris (Rachel); a great nephew, Alex Harris; her great-niece, Taylor Harris; first cousin, Jay Shappley (Judy) and others whose lives were impacted by her loving legacy.

A visitation will be held from 10am-11am with a Homegoing Service to follow on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Collierville First Baptist Church located at 830 New Byhalia Rd. Collierville, TN. The Committal will be held at Memorial Park located at 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN. At 1pm.
