John Kane Obituary
John enjoyed going to the Bartlett Senior Citizens Center and the friendships he made over the years with the other members. He was also a past member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He loved to fish, and was also a genealogy enthusiast, traveling to Ireland to research the Kane family name and ancestors who immigrated to the US in the 1800s and settled in Memphis, Tennessee.
John leaves his daughter, Deborah Kane Baur and grandson Mark Baur, both of Memphis, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews in southwest Florida. John is preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Kane, Sr. (1944), his mother Cecilia Clawson Kane (1997), brother Edward G. Kane (1978), and sister Carolyn Kane Hodgson (2017).
Visitation will be Friday, August 2, 2024, from 10-11am at the Catholic Church of the Nativity, 5955 St. Elmo Rd, Bartlett, TN, and a Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 1663 Elvis Presley Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice or to the Catholic Church of the Nativity

My condolences to John´s family. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met - always welcoming and smiling. He was a valued parishioner at Nativity Church. A few years ago John and I attended a Kane-Avant family reunion and he believed he had found a connection between us. I would be interested in speaking with his family about his genealogy findings of the Kane family.
I will definitely miss him.
