Ray Ward Obituary

Ray Alan Ward, 70, died July 25, 2024.

Born April 24, 1954 in Memphis Tennessee where he spent his life.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, first wife of 32 years, Evelyn, and second wife of 12 years, Carol Good. He leaves behind 3 daughters, Amy Ward, Emily Liddell (Chelsea), and Ashley Woodruff (Ryan), and 3 beautiful grandchildren, Ira, Henley and Lincoln who he loved fiercely.

He had a 30 plus year career as an electrical and gas engineer at MLG&W, attended Idlewild Presbyterian Church and had many hobbies including boating, grilling, gardening and stained glass. He lived a life filled with gratitude, guided by generosity and kindness, peppered with quiet humor.

A memorial service will be held at Idlewild Presbyterian Church August 16 at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Idlewild House and Properties Committee or OUTmemphis https://www.outmemphis.org/.

Ray and I talked or texted every few days and I miss him terribly; he was both a close friend and a neighbor, just one street over. I know he is now forever happy.
