David Carroll Cook

1962 - 2024

David Carroll Cook, 61, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Methodist Germantown surrounded by family.

He was born September 27, 1962, to Robert ""Bob"" Cook, and Dorothy Jo Goldstein in Memphis, TN. David was known for his sharp wit, encyclopedic knowledge, artistic talent, and compassionate spirit. Throughout his life David kept busy with work as an auto mechanic for Wolfchase & Courtesy Honda, operating Kermit's Reef with his father Bob, and most recently working with his son, Geoffrey, at FedEx.

Outside of work, he held many interests: art, motorcycles, racing, guns, history, and aquariums. However, his greatest passion remained his friends and family. David expressed his love through his intellect and problem-solving skills, and he eagerly seized every opportunity to use them on behalf of others. Whether it was cars, home repairs, aquariums, or simple advice, there was no problem for which David didn't have a plethora of solutions (accompanied with thorough explanations). David's knowledge was legendary, his presence eternal, and his love will be deeply missed.

David was preceded in death by his father Robert ""Bob"" Cook, and he leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Cook; his son, Geoffrey Cook (Mya); his mothers Dorothy Jo Goldstein and Denice Cook; five siblings Kelley Cook, Cheryl Curtis, Larry Cook (Sherry), Lana Carriglitto (John), and Michael Brower (Crystal); and close friend Adam Williams (Mig).

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 7:00 pm with visitation beginning at 5:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
