Chef Jackson Andrew Kramer

1979 - 2024

Memphis, TN – Jackson Andrew Kramer, age 44, passed away on September 1st, 2024, at Methodist Le Bonheur Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

He was born on November 6th, 1979, in Memphis, the son of Stephen Quinn Kramer and Cynthia Clary Kramer, who survive him.
Jackson is also survived by his wife, Carrie McPeters Kramer; his brother, Clayton (Tisha) Kramer and his sister, Louisa Kramer (Aaron) Munn, and his five nieces and nephews.

The world will never be the same without Jackson living in it. His wish was that those he left behind not dwell on sadness but celebrate the full life he lived. Jackson spent twenty years in the culinary world, most notably as the creative force behind Interim Restaurant and Bounty on Broad in Memphis. As a chef, he sought to make people wonder, to explore, and to forget themselves in an experience that transcended the food he created. His devotion to his art was the heart of his personality - a man who lived with limitless joy and love, energy and passion, and a wish for everyone to experience the same joie de vivre he lived with every day.

Jackson was an avid fisherman and all-around outdoorsman. He embraced every opportunity to be outside: kayaking, camping, hiking, mushroom hunting, or discovering new and beautiful places. At home, he found joy in gardening and cooking the fruits of his labor, believing truly in experiencing the full circle of food and the love that goes into it. He and his wife, Carrie, lived a lifetime as partners, working together, living together, traveling and moving across the country, from coast to coast. She was blessed to have the opportunity to watch him adapt to and conquer every challenge he was presented, always with optimism and determination. He was a devoted and loving husband, and loved his family above all.

A celebration of life for Jackson will be held on October 4th beginning at 5:00 pm at the Abe Goodman Golf Clubhouse in Overton Park, Memphis. Friends and family are invited to stop by and remember Jackson together.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, or the James Beard Foundation in Jackson's memory.

Jackson will live on in our hearts and memories forever.
