Paul Kennin Obituary

1964 was a leap year and it was a nice summer day in Memphis, TN on July 17 when Paul took the green flag, nude and crying, to his parents Harry and Linda Kennin. His older sister Heidi was excited to have a new baby brother. "Rag Doll" by The Four Tops was the #1 hit across the land and it reflected Paul's handsomeness as a baby. Paul experienced the team grow with the birth of a little brother, Karl, then twin baby sisters, Karen and Kelley. He was a very energetic young man who was encouraged to "go outside and play". In his youth, he and his friends-built forts and treehouses in the woods, rode dirt bikes, and came home before the streetlights came on. He enjoyed the design and mechanical aspect of things. He understood the precision and quality of good things in life. He studied drafting and design in school and applied his passions to professional careers. As a teen he enjoyed local stock car races. Paul went on to work as a crew chief for an All-Pro race team traveling the country racing in the early 1990's. His love for auto racing would never end, but he decided to change career paths to put his engineering skills to use. He went to work in a shop that made industrial conveyor systems. He worked his way from the shop floor to the office as a computer aided designer. He worked for several companies as a CAD engineer and found himself working for Millwork Specialty Contractors, LLC as a Project Estimator. Paul lived a full life for 60 years, 2 months, and 26 days, but took the checkered flag on a leap year, October 12, 2024. He leaves behind his wife Elena, and his son Turner. He loved all of his fans and spectators, and he will meet us all in victory lane.
