Leonard Garber Obituary

Leonard Garber was born June 3rd 1939. He was raised in Brooklyn NY and had various jobs growing up but ultimately retired from the mortgage loan business. He served honorably in the U. S. Army. His friends either called him Lenny or "Poppy", given to him by his family.

He was an avid reader, student of history, lover of cars, trains and baseball, particularly the Mets and was therefore a favorite team member for Trivial Pursuit. He was quick witted and always kind to others.

He is survived by his twin Norman Garber, a sister Nina Nissenfeld and his wife Peggy, who diligently cared for him until the end.

A graveside service for family will be held at Beth Shalom cemetery in Memphis Monday November 11th.

Peggy my deepest condolences on the loss of Lenny. It comes as a great shock to me as I didn´t know he was ill. Lenny was a great guy . You both made such a great couple as I followed both of you and your travels to beach on FB for quite a while. I can still remember the day I first met Lenny at a Mortgage Banking school in California back in 1970 and became good friends, that was Lenny´s personalty. Again, our deepest sympathies on his passing Our prayers are with you in this time of sorrow as I know he will be Greatly missed
