Dear Jon and family,
My sincerest condolences to you on the loss of Kip. He was a good friend to me, the picture shows him at a happier time just last spring as we depart Nassau for some bonefishing at Pierre's. He certainly left me with a hatful of memories and we'll miss him.

A day after Thanksgiving, I want to give thanks for Kip's friendship. Kip was a long-standing member of our Friday Afternoon Commitee (really just a group of coworkers who met for Happy Hour). I met Kip in 1999, soon after my arrival in Colorado from Puerto Rico to work with the US Geological Survey on watershed science. As an expert, Kip mentored me with his knowledge and humor. Not long after, he invited me and my family to view and hike the Collegiate Peaks that rise up more than a mile above the Arkansas River, near Buena Vista. Kip's labrador retriever, Ginger, helped pull my wife up the steep trails of Mt Yale where Kip showed us how to fly fish for trout in the beaver ponds. Rest in peace my friend.

Hi John. Certainly been a long time and hope you are well. Kip was definitely one of a kind.I Remember his brake tests when he'd just announce one was coming up and at 40 mph would slam the pedal to the floor. Thinking back I wonder how many cans of car wax he used on the red car.He must have detailed it at least once a week, and especially the wire wheels. I'm sure he had a fun life out in Colorado doing what he loved to do. Also recall In Cub Scouts he made some disappearing ink and sold it at school. A lot of games of pool and also remember your mom talking about and explaining song lyrics. Your dad would also come to the offfice for annual teeth sharpening. Funny the things that come to mind after64 years. I shared the obituary with the class of "68 as well Take care and again sorry for the loss.
