Elizabeth M. Day

Deerfield, MA - Elizabeth Mary (Lapointe) Day, 72, passed away Wednesday 11/27/24. She was born in Greenfield on September 28, 1952, the daughter of Arthur and Amelia (Kawecki) Lapointe. Elizabeth attended Holy Trinity School in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School Class of 1971.

After one year of college, Elizabeth enlisted in the United States Army, serving for 8 years.

Elizabeth married her husband John on August 6, 1977 after being close friends since 7th grade.

Elizabeth was employed at the local department store, the stationary store, tobacco fields and the pickle factory. She was also employed at the Eaglebrook School in Deerfield in the food preparation department.

Besides her beloved husband of forty seven years, John Day, Elizabeth leaves three children, Emily Nicole (Zachary) of Hoboken, NJ, Christopher Michael (Claire) of Athol, MA and Nicholas John of Deerfield, MA; siblings, Barbara Pearson (Douglas) of Kansas, Richard Lapointe, Margaret Murphy of Arizona, Mary Jo Purtell (Edward) of Norfolk, MA, Robert Lapointe of Gill, Teresa Poirier (Jeffrey) of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and burial will be private.

There will be no calling hours.

Elizabeth's family would like to thank Hospice for their care and support shown to her through this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Hi John,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss of your Beth! I remember her as sweet and quiet. A very caring and friendly person. I went to school with her since grade 1 I think. We´re HT kids. I´m very sad about hearing this news. Please know I am thinking of you and your family at this difficult time in your lives.
