Carol Ann Motsch, age 80, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, in Kettering, OH. Born on June 24, 1944, in Greenfield, OH, Carol was feisty but had a very big heart when you really got to know her. With a life anchored in love and devotion, Carol's journey began as the daughter of the late Delbert Rose and Helen Hunter. She grew up under the care of her aunt, Modessa Marshall, alongside her siblings - Tom and Linda Kay. Later in life, she met and became very close to her sister Helen. Her siblings preceded her in passing, as did her best friend Gary Whiddon. In 1961, Carol married her sweetheart, Nicholas Motsch, and together they embarked on a life full of laughter and exploration. Carol's legacy is carried forward by her devoted husband and best friend of 63 years, Nicholas; their daughter Becky (Greg) Eaton; their son Greg (Mark) Motsch; her cherished grandchildren David (Brittany) Schmitt, Justin (Victoria) Schmitt, Chelsea (Timmy) Eaton, and Tyler (Michelle) Eaton; and her great-grandchildren, JJ Schmitt, Grace Schmitt, Baylee Watson, Axel Taylor, and Cali Mae Taylor, and her brother-in-law Ted Motsch and his wife Rose. Carol also leaves behind her best friend, Cindi Whiddon, who stood beside her through many of life's chapters. A dedicated worker, Carol spent many years with Schear Family Practice, ensuring the well-being of others through her meticulous work in Workers Comp Processing. She retired from Ironworkers Benefit Association, where she was a claims processor, ensuring the members of the Ironworker's Union received all the benefits they were entitled to. While her professional life was important, Carol's heart was truly invigorated by her personal interests. A master quilter, Carol's hands lovingly crafted beautiful quilts, many of which she gifted to her family & friends, and donated to homeless shelters. In her younger years, she loved bowling with her husband and best friends in a local league. She and her beloved Nick were avid travelers, with the couple cruising the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Panama Canal, as well as visiting many other places in the world. As a passionate dog lover, Carol adopted many rescues over the years, with her dog Toby being with her when she passed. Carol's unwavering commitment to her family was her guiding star. She supported her children's endeavors, never missing a game or show. In her downtime, she relished in the dramas of soap operas and the thrill of reality TV shows. A regular face at Dayton Dragons Games, her enthusiasm never waned. There will be no formal funeral service, however, the family will have a celebration of her life in the early spring.
