Barbara Howell Hamilton, 94, passed away December 21, 2024. She was born March 6, 1930 to Alta Hammond and Frederick Howell in New Orleans, LA. She attended college at Randolph Macon Women's College in Lynchburg, VA and graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and spent many years doing volunteer work and making charitable financial contributions to the church and various universities and organizations within the community.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Ralph S. Hamilton, to whom she was married for over 65 years. She is survived by her three children, Dr. Ralph F. Hamilton (Jennifer), Dr. Warren H. Hamilton (Pam), and Helen H. Laurenzi, seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral and burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
The services have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.

Mrs. Hamilton was kind and generous. She lived an example of civic responsibility, and also keeping a strong faith and sense of humor. Her compassion and charitable giving have helped countless persons. She was concerned for making the world a better place, and, together with Ralph, she did. Our sincere condolences and prayers are with the family at this time.
