Girard, Thomas

Thomas Girard, age 74, passed away on November 28, 2024. He was born in Dayton, the son of Robert & Patricia (Janning) Girard. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ann Dolphin, sister Carolyn Portmann and nephews Tommy and Chris Girard. He is survived by his siblings Steve, Suzanne (John Swartz), Nina Nadolny (Jeff), Jeff (Andie) and Kevin (Nikki), and brother-in-law Richard Portmann, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A 1970 graduate of Carroll High School, he went on to serve in the United States Navy, primarily as a radio operator in Iceland. With two associates degrees from Sinclair Comm College, he went on to pursue his love of art as an entrepreneur running TRG Design, in his employment at the United Tech Corp. and the Oakwood Register as a graphic artist, and in producing many paintings, including an exhibition of his work at St. Anne's Hill Art Center. Tom also loved his cats, bike riding, hiking, theater and membership in Catholic social clubs. Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek on January 10, 2025. Visitation will begin at 11, followed by services at 12; and burial at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W Third St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association
