Diane Young Tashie

1943 - 2025

Diane Young Tashie, 81, of Memphis, passed away in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on January 3, 2025.

Diane was born on May 21, 1943 to Charles and Jewel Young in Sardis, MS. She graduated from Sardis High School in 1961 and not long after moved to Memphis, where she continued to keep in touch with both her roots and the many friends she made throughout her years in Sardis.

Diane was a dedicated and active member of her community through her work at Le Passe and the Women's Exchange. She wed Paul Tashie in 1968, and with him had her two beloved sons, Judd and Josh, who have always been her pride and joy. Not only a devoted wife and mother, she also treated her roles as daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend with utmost care.

Diane most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards, traveling, collecting and selling fine antiques, and had recently taken up birdwatching. And she never turned down a casino visit. She also was known for her sweet tooth and her green thumb. Diane was a true lady, known for her impeccable style, sharp wit, and grace.


Diane was predeceased by her parents (Charles and Jewel) her siblings, (Harold, Mary, Milton, Bobby, Danny), and her husband Paul. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother (Charles), two sons (Judd and Josh) and daughters-in-law (Debbie and Angela), five grandchildren (Lily, Marie, Paul, Ava, and Max), as well as her closest of friends, card game sisters, and large extended family. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 8 at 1:30pm at Canale Funeral Home at 2700 Union Avenue Extended, followed by a reception at Ciao Bella.
