Steven A. Snow

Steven A. Snow of Lakeland, Tennessee peacefully transitioned this life on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, surrounded by his close family. He was 78 years old. He was born in Hannibal, Missouri on August 13, 1946, to Luna Montzelle Freeman and Avery Cleo Snow, who was a Marine. He lived many places during childhood, but when his father received orders to serve at the Millington Naval Base during his high school years, he found his forever home in Memphis. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Steven was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorris Snow of Lakeland, TN, his father Avery Snow of Hannibal, MO, his mother Luna Snow of Tarpin Springs, FL, and his brother John Snow of Kansas City, Missouri. He is survived by his daughter Millie Steele (Bruce) of Brighton Tennessee, his granddaughter Courtney Farzam (Hamid) of Ft. Worth, TX, his son Jeffrey White (Susan) and granddaughters Gabrielle, Lydia, and Rosemary of Camden, CT, and his nieces and nephew Amanda Moore, Titus Snow, and Suzanne Snow.
Steven attended Millington High School graduating in 1964 and then matriculated at Memphis State University where he received his bachelor's degree in history and political science in 1970. He was a brilliant man who was successful in many business ventures, but his true passion was being a personal fitness trainer to many loyal clients. He loved making a difference in people's lives and believed that life is what you give, not what you get.
He enjoyed life to its fullest with the love of his life, Dorris Snow and family. He was the vice-chair of the Lakeland Parks and Recreation/Natural Resources Board, the creator of the Facebook page "Home Groan Puns", which has over 500,000 members, a lover of music, and a world traveler. He enjoyed daily workouts as well as attending symphony concerts and Orpheum musicals. His best times, however, were spent with close family and friends. His kind heart, intelligent mind, humorous spirit, and ability to never meet a stranger will be missed by many. There is vacuum where his life once took place, and those who loved him will never forget the impact he left on them.
