Linda Gaffney Obituary

Gaffney, Linda Sue

Linda Sue Gaffney, 86, of Springfield, passed away January 14, 2025 in her home. She was born January 24, 1938 in Springfield, daughter of the late Ora "Millard" and Edith (Shelton) Setty. Linda was a 1955 graduate of Springfield High School. She worked at Crowell-Collier Publishing and then at International Harvester for 20 years. She attended Maiden Lane Church of God and enjoyed swimming at the YMCA, running, riding her bike, music and dancing. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald E. Gaffney. They would have celebrated 67 years of marriage on January 18. Other survivors include her children, Shelly (Tom) Whitaker, Mike, Kerby (Amy), and Kerry (Tonda) Gaffney; grandkids, Nicole (Ryan) Wilson, Dan Whitaker, Alissa (Jayson) Chapman, Cole and Stef Gaffney; great-grandkids, Adalyn and Lydia Wilson; sister, Brenda (Larry) Cook; and nephew, Sam McFarland. Private services were held for Linda with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to namicgm.org or gentivahs.com. Arrangements entrusted to the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
