Randall Hollingsworth Obituary

Hollingsworth, Randall Eugene "Gene"

Randall Eugene "Gene" Hollingsworth, 92, passed on January 14, 2025 in Xenia, Ohio. Gene was born September 29, 1932 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late James and Ellen (Rawlins) Hollingsworth.

Gene is survived by his wife, Madonna (Kress), his daughters Victoria Hollingsworth and Amy Chilton. Gene is missed by his nine grandchildren as well as great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brothers and sisters. He lost his only son, Major James Mason Hollingsworth (USA, retired), in September of this year.

Gene discovered his joy of journalism and photography while serving in the United States Air Force. His awards include recognition for his role in the Korean and Vietnam hostilities. He retired as a Master Sergeant after more than 22 years. Gene also retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Gene volunteered tax assistance through VITA for 20 years.

Lovably ornery, Gene lived life to the fullest and is sorely missed. A celebration of his life will be held from 11 AM-1 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Hale House, 320 N Miami Street, West Milton, OH. Arrangements are in care of Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, West Milton. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 21301 S Tamiami Trail, Estero, FL 33928 or online at https://ipffoundation.org/donate/.
