Jo Lynch Obituary

Jo Ann Lynch, 81, widow of Jim Lynch, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2025 in Memphis. Jo Ann was born in Halls, Tennessee, the daughter of Joseph and Hazel Baker, who both preceded her in death.

She leaves two daughters: Jennifer Cobb (husband Billy Cobb) and Jodye Pugh (husband Jeffrey Pugh); four grandchildren: Camron Cobb (wife Miranda Cobb), Amy Gafnea, Tyler Pugh (wife Mallory Pugh), and Taylor Pugh, and two great-grandchildren: Oaklynn Rane Cobb and Maisy Rae Cobb. A third great-grandchild, Macie Lynn Pugh, is on the way.

Jo Ann was the epitome of what it means to be a wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. Those who knew her were blessed. She truly loved like Jesus does, and had a way of making everyone feel valued and accepted. She enjoyed cooking, and her home was a place of peace and comfort for everyone she welcomed there. She instilled in her loved ones the importance of having a relationship with Christ, and also the value of family. She will be missed.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, immediately followed by a celebration of life service on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Cherry Road Baptist Church, 1421 Cherry Road Memphis, TN 38117. The family asks for prayers of comfort as they mourn the loss.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

My Condolences to the family. Joann treated me like family so I called her Momma-Jo. She was very involved with the model airplane community helping with the tabulation of scores at competitions. She knew a lot of people and they knew her and loved her being at the events. She will be missed.
