James Wilson Obituary

James Norris Wilson, 77, formerly of Memphis TN, and the Oxford MS State Veteran's
Home passed away on February 2, 2025. He was born in Savannah, TN on December 11,
1947 to Thomas Wilson and Mildred Nold Wilson.

Jim Wilson worked as a machinist for most of his life, like his dad, but was also
interested in art, sculpture, painting, and photography. He had several years of completed
study in art at the University of Memphis. Jim played the violin, and guitar in his younger
days, and was always first and foremost a Marine. Jim lettered in tennis in high school,
graduated from Irving High School in Irving TX in 1965. Jim was a big fan of Harley
Davidson motorcycles and drove his own 1980 Dana low rider for many years. Jim
enjoyed shooting, reading, movies, and artistic endeavors. Jim was married to Ava
McDaniel, and though they later divorced, she remained a supportive and good friend to
him, particularly when his health began to decline.

Jim was proceeded in death by his parents, older brother, Terry Curtis, and his younger
sister, Elaina Lee.

Jim's direct remaining family are brothers Dennis Keith (Cindy), Robin Wayne (Cheryl),
and Thomas Anthony Wilson.
