Ray Phillips Obituary

Ray Mitchell Phillips Jr., age 86, of Germantown, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025. A life well lived. He was born December 10, 1938 in Lanett, Alabama to his parents, Lois and Ray M. Phillips Sr. Ray graduated from Lanett High School in 1957, and attended Howard College (now Samford University) in Birmingham, Alabama. He served in the Army during peacetime after the Korean War in the Army Security agency. He was discharged from service in Atlanta, Georgia, where he lived for 61 years. Ray met his wife Rose in 1965 in Atlanta and they were married 58 years. Together they had a daughter, Jennifer Monsarrat (Mike) who resides in Bartlett, TN with their three children, Abigail, Asher and Caleb. Ray was a licensed funeral director working for A.C. Hemperley in East Point, GA, then Carmichael/Hemperley, in East Point/ Peachtree City, GA. He retired in 2024 from Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville/ Peachtree City, GA. The family requests that memorials and donations be made to the charity of the donors choice, in his memory.

Ray was a fine man. He was a hard working, very humble man. My prayers are for his family that they may have peace and comfort in the coming days.
