Britty Penne Obituary

Our beloved wife, mother & Memaw, Britty Ann Penne passed away February 28, 2025, at the age of 77. Britty was born in Blytheville AR but later in life her family moved to Omaha NE. She was very active in sports in High School and while working at Kings Food Host, she met the love of her life on a bet from her boss. From that moment on and for reasons that can only be explained as "it was meant to be", she had met her soulmate for life. Britty married John Penne on February 19, 1966 in Omaha, NE. After a few jobs here & there, John enlisted in the US Air Force. Britty was right by his side and was ready for the adventure. Britty worked on each miliary base that they were stationed at from the base commissary to the Red Cross. Both her & John were very active in bowling & golfing. She had an impact on each person she interacted with. She was courageous, inspirational, kind, loving, funny, full of joy, a ball of fire that showed us what can be accomplished with determination and persistence. She lived her life to the fullest, despite some challenges later in life. Now when it came to her hair, she had to have it done once a week and that was her Saturday outing. Later on, it was her Thursday outing and she had the same beautician for 35 years. After John retired from the military, Britty worked as a receptionist at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. But if her co-workers at the time would tell you, she wasn't just a receptionist, she ran that office! After 25 years, Britty retired. Her & John were then able to live their dream and travel in their motorhome. Britty & John had one daughter, Annette Penne(Allen). Family was everything to Britty and with two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Britty was the happiest during the Sunday-Fundays with family. Britty is predeceased in death by Henry Dyles(father) & Nadine Dyles(mother). She is survived by John Penne(husband), her sister Nollie Smith(Bill), her daughter Annette Allen(Joe), grandchildren Kyle Overby(Casey) & Ashley Woodbright(Brian). Services will be held at Forest Hill Funder Home & Memorial Park-Midtown 1661 S. Elvis Presley Blvd., Memphis TN 38106 on March 6, 2025. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00pm with the service starting at 2:00pm and burial to follow. To send a flower arrangement or to plant trees in memory of Britty A.
