Beverly Kay Burkhalter

Beverly Kay Burkhalter, 72, of Lakeland, TN, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, at Saint Francis Hospital in Bartlett, surrounded by her loving family. Beverly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in family. She shared 55 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Fred Burkhalter, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was the proud mother of three sons: Brandon Burkhalter (Karla), Steven Burkhalter, and Bobby Burkhalter (Shannon). Beverly's kindness and wisdom touched not only her children but also the 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren who were blessed to call her "Mamaw." Born to Worley and Lillie Newcomb, Beverly grew up with a strong sense of family, a trait she carried throughout her life. She is survived by her brother, Ricky Newcomb, and her sister, Ronda Newcomb. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Larry Newcomb, her beloved daughter Jennifer Burkhalter, and her grandson Brandon Burkhalter Jr. Beverly's warmth, strength, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She had a gift for making those around her feel special, and her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A celebration of Beverly's life will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on March 12, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. with a visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. Though Beverly may no longer be with us in person, her love, kindness, and spirit will remain with us always.
