Royalton, VT - Denis Alan Ives passed away unexpectedly at the age of 68 in Bethel, VT on March 16th, 2025.

Denis was born June 20th, 1956, in Claremont, NH and grew up in Bethel, VT. Denis met Elaine Bassett as a young adult and they later married on June 17th, 1989, on the property they called home in Royalton, VT. They soon welcomed their three sons who were his proudest accomplishments.

Denis worked in several vocations throughout his life. He most recently worked at Hypertherm in Hanover, NH from 2006 until he retired in 2022. He was a perfectionist in every job he had. His work ethic was second to none, a trait he insisted on passing on to his three sons.

Denis would do anything for anyone, at any time, without question. His knowledge and ability to fix anything was valuable to all. Denis loved hunting, snowmobiling, and camping. He especially loved sugaring with his family. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

He is predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Carr; brothers, Michael and Bruce Ives; and his in-laws, Earl and Lois Bassett.

He is survived by his wife Elaine Ives; his sons, Cody Ives and wife Megan Swanson Ives, Jesse Ives and fiancée Courtney Maxham, Justin Ives and wife Erica Blodgett Ives; grandchildren, Caysen Ives, Remiana Ives, Walker Ives, and another granddaughter due in May; siblings Barbara Ives, Edith Heath and husband Jere; brother-in-law, Phil Bassett; lifelong best friend, Eric Richardson and Eric's son-in-law, AJ Kreis.

There are no calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 at 4:00pm in the Hickey Cemetery on, North Road, Royalton, VT. There will be a reception immediately after.
