Gail McDonald Obituary

Gail Irene McDonald, age 78, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 16, 1947, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Gail brought joy and kindness to all who knew her. She was a proud member of Tennessee Association of the Deaf "TAD". Gail retired after many years of service with the United States Postal Service. She found joy in life's simple pleasures-from relaxing with her favorite TV shows like Wheel of Fortune, WWE Wrestling, FBI, and Chicago Fire, to enjoying the outdoors at Horseshoe Lake, where she loved fishing and boating. Gail had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs-Pepper, Pearl, and Tammy-who brought her endless companionship and comfort. Gail's presence, warmth, and laughter will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Gail was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alyene Banziger and Frank Helmer She leaves behind her husband, James Edward McDonald, Jr.,; her daughter, Beth Williams (David); two sisters, Phyllis Osborn (Wayne), Kaye Poos (Guy), and her brother, Mike Helmer (Nancy). This is Mike Erwin. Ann and I wanted to tell long time friend Jimmy that we were saddened to hear about Gail. It has been many years but fond memories remain of many youthful events.
