James Svoboda Obituary
He graduated in 1969 from Lorain High School in Lorain, Ohio, where he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. Although nominated to West Point, he attended Purdue University on a "full ride" football scholarship. Jim was inducted into the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
Jim was a hardworking, unassuming man who was dedicated to his family. He will be fondly remembered for his quiet demeanor, love of naps while watching sports and his bottomless stomach.
Jim is survived by his wife, Cindy Svoboda; his daughters Matti Chiaramonte (Gary) of Durham, NC and and Jessica Davis (Dereck) of Cordova, TN; his sons Robby Svoboda (Brittany) of Willow Springs, NC, Matthew Svoboda of Bartlett, TN, Nicholas Svoboda of Bartlett, TN and Ryan Davis (Rachel) of Collierville, TN; grandchildren Austin Svoboda, Avery Svoboda, Ashton Williams, Brayden Wilson, Noah Davis, Jenna Davis, and Ellie Davis; his brother Paul Svoboda (Robin) of Vermillion Township, Ohio and his sister Linda Hall of Sheffield Village, Ohio.
Visitation will take place from 12:00pm until 2:00pm on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Brent Taylor Funeral Directors in Collierville, TN.

I knew Jim as the husband of my best friend for approximately 20 years. I will always remember his quiet personality, his sweet disposition and his willingness to do anything you ask him to do, such as The Overton Park Shell. Jim, you are in a better place and I hope to join you and my parents one day soon. Thanks for always treating me with kindness! I will try to help take care of Cindy but she´s always very busy! You will be missed by the kitty next door as you have given her the loving she needed! RIP
