Martha McCallie Obituary

Martha Loretta McCallie, lovingly known as Loretta, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the age of 81 at her home. Born on September 26,1943, in Holly Grove, Arkansas, Loretta was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ailene Rogers. She was preceded in death by her older sisters, Mary, Catherine and Dorothy and her great granddaughter, Ginny Rose Williams. Loretta was a 1961 graduate of Holly Grove High School where she played basketball and later played independent basketball in Brinkley, AR. Loretta shared 64 wonderful years of marriage with James, and together they raised two children: Roger McCallie of Chattanooga, TN and Mary Williams (Douglas) of Collierville, Tennessee. Her beloved grandchildren include Brad (Bridget) Williams and Raymond (Dacey Fischer) Williams and a great grandchild Wyatt, each of whom she held close to her heart. Loretta enjoyed reading, gardening, canning and sewing/quilting. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2nd, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home (5599 Poplar Ave). Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3rd, at Memphis Funeral Home. Loretta will be laid to rest at Memphis Memorial Garden Cemetery on Raleigh Lagrange Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or LeBonheur Children's Hospital.
