Funeral service to be held Sat, May 31, 2025, 11:00 am at Wayman Chapel AME Church, 3317 Hoover Ave, Dayton OH 45402, Pastor Gerald A. Cooper, Rev. Candy Hardy, officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church beginning at 10:00 am. Masonic Memorial service to be held Fri, May 30, 2025, 6:00 pm at Greater Allen AME Church, 1620 W 5th St, Dayton OH 45402. FACIAL MASK IS RECOMMENDED FOR BOTH SERVICES. Growing up at Christ Our Redeemer in the 1980s was great at that time I appreciate Sunday School Wednesday night at 7:00 Bible study and praise service it was fun those years Saturdays having ypd girl scouts bake sales and choir rehearsal was very fun I mostly enjoyed going to camp
I appreciate those days growing up also watching the teenagers older than me at
Tawawa those of y'all that remember. I was only 13 at the time but hopefully it has became more HOLY today than it was then.
Jesus Christ of Nazareth love everybody.

There will never be enough "thank you´s" to express the depth of my gratitude. You saved me, and without God placing you in my life as my godfather, I don´t know where I would be today. You cared for me, and in your final days, I was honored to care for you. What a blessing, what an honor, what a gift on this earth it has been to know and love such a man.
I will forever be your running buddy, and when the gates of heaven open, I will run to you just as I did as a little girl, kissing your forehead and holding you tight. Until then, rest peacefully next to Mama Holmes. I´ll see you again when God calls us home.

I wish to extend my deepest condolences to the Christ Our Redeemer AME church family, and all family members of Pastor CHARLES Holmes. Our beloved pastor Holmes once served as interim pastor of New North Street AME Church. He was extremely respected for his biblical knowledge by many pastors here in Springfield, Ohio. I will surely miss seeing him at the AME conferences and hearing him call everyone beloved. May our Beloved Pastor Holmes rest in God´s heavenly peace with your dear beloved wife.
