Diane Spence Obituary
Diane had a deep passion for learning that shaped every part of her life. A lifelong educator, she poured herself into her work and into the lives of the students, teachers, and families she served. She spent many years at St. George's Independent School and St. Mary's Episcopal School - two communities she held dear. Her commitment to growth and innovation led her to earn a Doctorate in Educational Technology at age 62, a testament to her dedication and forward-thinking spirit.
To know Diane was to be encouraged - to feel seen, believed in, and lifted up. She was strong yet gentle, faithful in all things, an amazing listener, and inspiring to those around her. She was always looking for the good in others and helped them see it in themselves.
Family was her greatest joy and her favorite place was anywhere they were. Whether she was being Mom, Yaya, or simply Diane, she gave her whole heart - offering unconditional love, wisdom, and joy. She was the heart of the family, always there with a listening ear, a warm embrace, and endless patience.
Diane will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 51 years, Ron, her children Ryan Spence (Corinne), David Spence (Brittany), and Anne Lucas (Jon), and her grandchildren, Austin, Olivia, Jonathan, Miller, Katherine, Maggie, and Jacob. She was welcomed to heaven by her grandson, Forrest, mother, Grace, and father, Forrest.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 6, 2025 at 11:00 at Church of the Holy Communion in Memphis,TN. There will be a visitation at 10:00.
