David Reed Obituary

David Raymond Reed of Cordova passed away on July 1, 2025 at age 73 after a long illness. Born on December 31, 1951 in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, David spent part of his life in California before settling in Memphis, where he lived for the rest of his life. A pioneer in the computer age, David built a 40+ year career in technology at various financial institutions. He also shared his expertise as a computer instructor at Southwest TN Community College. He will be remembered for his quiet humor, intellect, and love of anything fast and loud – cars, motorcycles, music, and guns. David leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Jean Ann Reed of Cordova; two stepchildren, Jacob Harris of Bartlett and Patricia Harris of Boston; three cherished grandchildren, Chase, Jacob Jr., and Shelby Harris of Bartlett; two sisters, Jan Reed and Donna Reed; and many beloved family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Bill Reed. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 9 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00am.
