Margaret Bates Obituary
Turners Falls, MA - Margaret Bates, 92, died Saturday 7/5/25 at the Greenfield Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born in Montague on August 27, 1932, the daughter of John and Lillian Thompson. Margaret attended local schools in Montague and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School.
She was in restaurant service and enjoyed running a bakery out of her home.
Among her survivors, Margaret leaves five children, Robert Flood, Patricia Sayer, Cathy Flood, Angela Hagen and Andrew Hill; a brother, Walter Thompson; and two sisters, Helen Momaney and Jean Bonzek.
Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret, William, Joseph, Russell and Robert Thompson and Beverly Currier.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday 7/22 at 10AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 84 K St. Turners Falls, MA 01376. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Turners Falls.
