Nancy Caldwell (Bunten) Frost
Dunbarton, NH - Nancy Frost was born in Concord, NH on February 21, 1934. Nancy passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, after a period of declining health. She was the daughter of John Edgar Bunten and Mary Barnard Bunten (both deceased).
Nancy grew up on the Bunten family dairy farm (Maplewood Farm) on Stickney Hill Road, Concord, NH. This farm produced milk and dairy products for the Concord area for many years. She helped take care of the dairy cows as a child. She graduated from Concord High School in 1952. After graduating from high school, she performed clerical work at Concord Electric company.
She married Charles E. Frost, Sr., a pharmacist (deceased). Together, they purchased an 1800 era farmhouse and land in Dunbarton where they raised three boys, and she lived for the remainder of her life. Nancy enjoyed gardening and tended to a large vegetable garden every year. She loved plants and had several varieties of indoor plants. She loved the outdoors and walking with her dog. She loved her pets, dogs and cats.
While her three sons were young, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed driving her sons and other children to Scouting events and other activities. She later returned to work at Centorr Associates in Suncook, NH as the president's secretary. She later worked for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, retiring in 1999.
She enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She furthered her musical endeavors by taking organ lessons and learning to play a Hammond B-3 organ. She became an organist at the First Baptist Church in Goffstown and later for many years at the Immanuel Community Church in Concord. She enjoyed playing hymns and had an extensive music collection. She taught many children in the Dunbarton area to play the piano.
She enjoyed attending local events in Dunbarton, including Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Old Home Day events. She was a member of the Dunbarton Historical Society, serving some terms as a director. She served as a trustee for the Harriet Stark Trust, responsible for maintaining the historic Stark Cemetery in Dunbarton. She worked with Dunbarton's Historical Awareness Committee to document some of Dunbarton's town history.
She enjoyed family gatherings and annually hosted and cooked delicious holiday meals. She was proud of her family's heritage, being a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
She is predeceased by her husband, Charles Sr. She leaves her three sons, Charles E. Frost, Jr., and wife Annette, James B. Frost and wife Diane, and William H. Frost and partner Laura. She had five grandchildren, Joshua, Ryan, Derek, Spencer, and Paige and three step grandchildren, Tarek, Danette, and Jullian. She leaves six great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her six siblings, William Bunten, John Bunten, Mary Engel, Forrest Bunten, Sarah Siegler, and Elizabeth Bunten. She leaves several nieces and nephews.
Nancy will be missed by many who always thought of her as a sweet, humble and generous person.
