John Kennedy Obituary

John King Kennedy passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025, his wife Terry and daughter Lisa were by his side. He was born on February 19,1942 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late William and Addie Kennedy. John worked for the City of Bartlett in Public Works for 25 years. After retiring, he and his wife Terry of 57 years traveled and had many adventures. He never gave up his love of Deer hunting over a 40 year span. To many, he was a steady presence and a source of support. He raised Lisa and Dale from the ages of 3 and 1 as if they were his very own, never ever using the word "step-father". He was their only father. John is preceded in death by his son, Dale Lawrence; and brothers, Bill Kennedy, Glen Kennedy, and Griffin Kennedy. John leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 57 years, Terry O. Kennedy; daughter, Lisa Cochran of Macon, Georgia; sister, Carol Griffith of Hernando, Mississippi; Grandchildren, Seth Massey, Shane Massey (Karina), Brandon Lawrence, and Ragan Cochran; great grandchildren, Haylee Massey, Sutton Massey, and Shane Massey. John was a loving husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, and last great grandfather who will be missed dearly and will be in our hearts forever.
