David Arial Obituary
Savannah, GA - David Batchelder Arial was born August 16th, 1942 in Greenfield, Massachusetts. He grew up in Montague Center, Massachusetts. He graduated from Turner's Falls High School in 1960, and graduated from Michigan Tech in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science in Math. David married the love of his life in 1963. He worked as an actuary in California for five years and then 50 years in Columbia, South Carolina from 1970-2020. Predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Thompson Arial. Survived by one child, April Arial Carlisle (CJ), and two grandchildren, Margaret "Megan" Carlisle (John) and Mason Carlisle (Kat). After retirement at age 77, he moved to Savannah, Georgia to be closer to family. David passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on October 3rd, 2025. He went to the "Great Actuarial Department in the Sky" as he always used to say and is reunited with his love, Margaret "Peggy". Celebration of life to be announced in the future.

I worked with David for 36 years. He was my friend, mentor and colleague who I cherished like family. I´m so very fortunate to have known him and been influenced by him. He enabled me the opportunity to grow and prosper while I worked for him. There will never be another David in my lifetime! I love and miss you David!

My deepest condolences I really liked your dad. He once brought me to his place of work to show me the massive computers back in the late 60' told me I should think about studying computer science cause they would change the word boy was he right.
