Although Dusty and I were born to different families, we formed our own brotherhood almost 50 years ago in high school. We 'clicked' almost instantly. We worked together in the summer months, and played music together in band. He would go camping, boating, and water-skiing with my family and I, even though swimming wasn't his strong suit. It was just a way to further bond our friendship and brotherhood and spend our leisure time together.
Though time, distance, and different paths in life kept us physically separated over the decades, we never lost touch with each other and continued talking until he knew his time was near.
I will miss him terribly. The camaraderie, our conversations, many dumb jokes, and also many more serious topics, as both of us dealt with all the ups and downs in life.
I'm not sure I even know how to process the loss of Dusty in my life. One thing I know for certain, is that we loved and trusted each other, as brothers would. I will always have happy memories to look back upon.

I didn't know him very well. I am glad he is at peace.

I hope Dusty knew how much he was loved by his sisters. He will always be in my heart.

I will miss Dusty, but he loved God and is at peace in his eternal home and no longer suffering. He is forever in our hearts. One day we will see each other again.
