Burgy and I befriended each other in the first grade on the playground of Corpus Christi Grade School. Because he was so much bigger than me, he would be my horse as I held on to his shirt tail while romping around the other kids. Over the years, our friendship grew at Corpus Christi and Chaminade High School. In our twenties, we both began dating Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing graduates: Bill, Jean Muhlenkamp, and I, Norma Kramer. They were both from Mercer County, Ohio (Jean, Celina, and Norma, Coldwater). Bill and I would soon marry the loves of our lives: Bill and Jeanie at Immaculate Conception Church (Celina) in November of 1966, and Norma and I at Corpus Christi Church in June of 1968. I was one of the groomsmen in Bill and Jeanie' wedding.
Bill and Jean reared two sons, Jeff and Mark; and Norma and I, a daughter and two sons, Julie, Mike, and Matt. Mark and Matt would attend St. Charles Elementary School together.
Throughout our teens, Bill and I would have many a good time together, but the most "eventful" was the Austin Healy Sprite adventure.
Bill was the salt of the Earth. The world has lost a gem!
