Virginia Jackson Obituary

Virginia Anne Lambert Jackson

White River Junction, VT - Virginia, "Ginnie," passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born in Lebanon, NH, on September 7, 1939, to Dolor Lambert and Martha (Thurber) Lambert. She attended Sacred Heart School and later graduated from Lebanon High School. Ginnie then attended Moore General Hospital School of Practical Nursing which prepared her for a career in the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital (now Dartmouth-Hitchcock HealthCare System) Operating Room as an OR Nurse. Ginnie loved her vocation and the many life-long friends she made over her 30 years at Mary Hitchcock.

Ginnie married the love of her life, Stanley Jackson, on September 5,1964. Throughout this time, Ginnie provided guardianship for her sister, Mary Wilmot. Ginnie and Stan also raised his sister Gloria Jackson's three children after she passed away in January 1970. Ginnie has said she prayed for children and was blessed by having three all at once. She and Stan provided the love and guidance they needed to become wonderful adults.

In retirement, Ginnie loved having her grandchildren spend time with her in the backyard swimming pool and having Christmas Eve family extravaganzas.

Ginnie had many outside interests including travel, needlework, crafting, and quilting. She also loved gardening and planted way too many vegetables which she canned, pickled, preserved, or gave away so they could be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

The Catholic Church played a large role in Ginnie's life. She usually went to daily Mass and was a frequent liturgical reader and Eucharistic Minister. She used her love of crafts and the church to organize the annual Christmas Bazaar at St. Anthony's Catholic Church for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Jackson; her parents; two sisters, Mary Wilmot and Rose Lindsay; two brothers, Joseph and Dolor Lambert; and nephew, Bruce Jackson. Ginnie is survived by her niece, Wanda Bombaci (Paul), and her nephew, William Jackson (Susanne); as well as grandnieces and grandnephews whom she considered her grandchildren: Vanessa Grana, Julia Gonzales, Zachary Rowe and Alexander Rowe. She also leaves two great-grandchildren, Brynn Rowe and Jackson Gonzalez, as well as several other nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of her life in White River Jct., VT, and a burial at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery at a date to be determined.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Terra Bella Assisted-Living facility and Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care that Ginnie received.
