Kevin McGuirk Obituary
Fitzwilliam, NH - Kevin McGuirk, 69, had his final Irish exit at his home in Fitzwilliam, NH, on December 20, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Burbank, with whom he shared 26 well-lived and well-loved years; his children Keith Clark and his wife Sarah, Seth Sienkiewicz and his wife Aimee, Kelly McGuirk, Megan McGuirk and her husband Kevin; grandchildren Autumn McGuirk-Gilchrest, Luke, Logan and Alexis Sienkiewicz; his four siblings, Neil McGuirk, Lianne Bartlett, Darren McGuirk, and Trisha Wilkinson; and several nieces and nephews; he was predeceased by his father, Patrick McGuirk; his mother, Jane Ann (Lowell) McGuirk and his nephew, Jerrod Bartlett.
Kevin was born in Athol, MA on March 19, 1956 and graduated from Athol High School in 1974. He had a 25 year career with Digital Equipment Corporation, where he proudly worked his way up from the loading dock to leadership roles that provided him some of his fondest memories of traveling to and working in Ireland.
Kevin was many things: a lifelong craftsman, the life of the party, a helper to many, a DJ affectionately known as Jukebox Eddie, a New England sports fan and a jack of all trades. It was regularly joked that he could whittle anything out of wood. All joking aside, he actually could and did many times. He left his final mark 'up at camp' on Laurel Lake, where he completed a new water wheel this fall. It is now known as 'McGuirk Mill'. When Kevin wasn't building something, he could be found playing pool on teams in Athol and Keene. He was always the first and last on the dance floor, mixing up cocktails for friends and family, turning up the music after Melissa had just turned it down, and collecting mementos from his travels and special events.
A Celebration of Kevin's Life will be held at The Boiler Grille in the banquet hall, 245 Tully Road, Orange, MA on January 10th at 12:30pm. A luncheon will follow.

Kevin was a pool playing buddy and fellow blues fan. He was always such a good natured positive force. That quality stood out even more as he fought his good fight. A power of example of a life well lived.

I had the pleasure of attending many social events with Kevin, including some at his home in Fitzwilliam, N.H. I have memories of him on the dance floor, around a bonfire, on a boat, and more. He did a lot of fine work -- and hard work -- restoring a house and barn on the Royalston common formerly owned by Dr. Dwight Stowell. My partner David and I extend sincere sympathy wishes to Melissa, and all friends and family, including Joan Katz and Nancy Ferron who often watched football games and more with him.

George and I had many fun times with Kevin and Melissa. One time has us laughing to this day. We were on our way over to their camp walking from ours, on a cold and icy evening. The road going downhill towards the beach was covered in ice. George fell and got his pants all wet. After arriving at their camp we had to wait for Kevin to get home from plowing someone out. Melissa suggested George take his pants off and she would throw them in the dryer. Not having a spare pair of jeans, she offered up Kevins bathrobe. Of coarse George being 4 X larger than Kevin it was a sight to be seen. We decided it would be funny for Donna to hide when Kevin got home and see Melissa sitting there with George in Kevin´s too small bathrobe. OMG did we get a good laugh ut of that one.
