Diane Reilly Obituary

Diane K. Simon Reilly

Groton, MA - Diane K. Simon Reilly, passed on Sunday, December 28th, 2025 after a brave fight with cancer.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Melvin "Doc" Simon and Lucille "Lou" Beaulieu Simon and cherished daughter-in-law of the late Donald "Don" Reilly and Carol Westerman Reilly. Diane was born the youngest of four daughters in Hanover, NH, on September 10, 1965. Diane graduated from Hartford High School in 1983, moved to Boston and graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business in 1987.

Diane's professional career began at the Keystone Investment Resource Center, where she interned during college. There she met, fell in love with and married the love of her life, Paul. Diane's interest in investing brought her to the treasury investment division of Keystone Mutual Funds and after a short stay at the treasury management division of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston, Diane found her dream team with the Bank of America. Her career at BOA spanned over 25 years where she built lifelong friendships alongside fulfilling business relationships. She was so proud of the work she accomplished with her team and the friendships she made.

Diane loved being a mother of twins. Despite juggling the needs of two babies and a blossoming career, she was a member of a MOMs (Mothers of Multiples) group and treasurer of the Parent Teacher Organization. One of her most proud parent moments was watching Luke & Mike graduate from high school in May and helping them plan their future expectations for college and beyond.

She was a bona-fide foodie and loved traveling (especially her annual sisters' weekends). She explored Europe solo and enjoyed many adventures, boondoggles and surprises for work and for fun. Diane was a fabulous travel companion, especially using her skillful driving in Florence and on tiny country roads on the sisters' trip to Italy. She would ride a vespa and scuba dive in Bermuda and wow you with wine in the Napa Valley. She enjoyed the annual family vacations to Truro, Massachusetts, sharing her happy place at the beach with Luke and Mike, and always wanting to hear stories from her family around a game of cards or a jigsaw puzzle. Aunt Di Di was a pillar for the family and will be forever missed but never forgotten.

Diane is survived and deeply missed by her loving husband, Paul, children Luke and Michael of Groton, MA, her sister Norma Jean "Jody" Simon, sister Lori Simon Dickerson and her husband Jim Dickerson, sister Linda Simon Miller and husband George Miller, brother-in-law Bob Reilly and wife Nancy Hopkins Reilly, sister-in-law Kathi Reilly Spinella and husband Anthony Spinella, brother-in-law David Reilly, adopted mother-in-law Patricia "Grammy Pat" Ramey as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Diane is also survived by her exchange student sister Maria Eugenia Cardenas Trujillo and husband Mario, godmother and aunt Carolyn White and husband John White, aunt Wooky Doyle, aunt Connie Stamos Reilly, many cousins and friends, especially her best friend, Leslie Begin. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Albin and Leona Scherer Simon and maternal grandparents Henry and Victoria Landry Beaulieu as well as many aunts and uncles.

Relatives and friends are invited to Diane's Celebration of Life on Friday, January 9th from 3:00 pm to 6:00pm at the Badger Funeral Home, 45 School St., Groton, MA 01450.
