Carolyn E. Thibeault

Athol, MA - Carolyn E. (Evashowsky) Thibeault passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 86. A loving and thoughtful mother and grandmother, she was known fondly as "Gram T" by her grandchildren. Carolyn was born on May 16, 1939, in Gardner, Massachusetts. Her life was a testament to her enduring love for family and friends, and her spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

Carolyn was a devoted wife to her late husband, Richard Thibeault, whom she married on August 13, 1988. Together, they enjoyed many winters traveling to Florida, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. She retired in 2001 after six years at The LS Starrett Co. Prior to this, she was employed by The Kontro Company in Orange, and while raising her family of four girls, she worked for Dr. George Manjourea at his dental office in Athol. During her younger years after high school, she attended St Vincents School of Nursing and also worked at Athol Memorial Hospital. She eventually left nursing to marry and start a family.

While her daughters were young, Carolyn was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Petersham Curling Club, which she enjoyed. She was a loyal viewer of her favorite soap opera, "The Young and the Restless." She also enjoyed watching the New England Patriots. What mattered most were her family and time with her friends.

Carolyn is survived by her loving daughters, Lori Obue, Theresa White, Diane Chiasson and Denise Aukstikalnis; sons-in-law, Laurence Obue and Timothy Aukstikalnis; grandchildren, Danielle Colella, Ryan Obue, Melissa Fuller, Holly Salemi, Greg Chiasson, Timothy Coleman, Cady McBride and Noah Aukstikalnis; son by marriage, Richard Thibeault Jr., and his wife, Susan; grandchildren by marriage, Justine Sargent, Alex Thibeault, Christopher Thibeault Jr, and Jessica Thibeault. She also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren from her daughters and 3 great-grandchildren by marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents, Branislaw and Melda Evashowsky; her husband Richard Thibeault in 2024 and ex-husband Richard White in 2023; and son by marriage, Christopher Thibeault in 2014.

The family would like to thank Quabbin Valley Healthcare and Beacon Hospice of Leominster for her end-of-life care. Also, a very special thanks to Broadview Assisted Living in Winchendon, where she was a resident.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Mack Family Funeral Homes, Athol-Orange Chapel, located at 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM at the same location.
