Mary Ellen was such a fun-loving, loyal and adventurous friend. She was a very caring teacher who always went the extra mile with each student. I have many fond memories of road trips, retail therapy, birthday celebrations and bar hopping with this dear friend. Condolences and love to Susanne, Keith, Sophie, Henry and family.

Dear Susanne,
I met your mom when I did my practice teaching in Amherst to become a Home Ec teacher. She was always upbeat and had a great sense for fashion. She had a lot of great tips for teaching and later when I returned to visit her, she told me of a school that was in need of a Home Ec teacher. I got that job and that started my 30 years as a FACS (Home Ec.) teacher. What a great person she was!

Mary Ellen was a great neighbor on Cold Hill Drive. Her daughter was the coolest babysitter. Suzanne so sorry for your loss.

Miss Curtain was a wonderful person
whom taught us valuable life lessons in her classroom. Encouraged us. We enjoyed her stories of her daughter too.

I never had Ms. Curtain for a teacher but as the daughter of a teacher I was at ARHS a lot! I remember her as kind, and funny. The image I have in my head of her is that she was like sunshine, always laughing. May her memory be a blessing.

Mary Ellen was the quintessential lady/woman. With a quirky sense of humor she would say something that would leave you in stiches . We all are less off without her spirit, warmth, and beautiful smile.

I remember taking Ms Curtins Home Ec classes in the late 70's. I still enjoy sewing with the skills she taught me. So sorry for your loss.
