Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Buryj Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

Jesse, I always knew that you were destined to do great things from the time we were children playing together in the streets of Smith Ave n Crown Place!!! I can not believe that I just found out that you severed our country and died doing so!!! My deepest sympathies go to your family!!! As we went through elementary school together, we walked each other to and from school!!! I remember all the times we had and I regret moving away to Kentucky and away from you!!! We were just children then but when I came back to visit in 1999 you were mad at me for being pregnant at that young age of seventeen!!! We lost contact soon after but I never forgot you!!! I wished I had known of your passing when it happened but I will always remember you!!! I loved you then at a very young age and I love and respect you more now for giving your life for our country!!! Rest in peace Jesse and I will see you when I get there!!!
Love Always,
Rachel Reed

I wish to offer my sympathies and condolences to Amber, Steve & Peggy (and the entire family). I have never been in touch, in fact it's hard to think about what tomorrow means. In fact, May 5th is a very hard day for me. It's my birthday and every year I have to celebrate the only thing I can remember... and I wish it never happened. If you read this, then know that I miss him and pray for you all.

First I would like to thank everyone who signed this guestbook. Im literally sitting here in tears reading all the wonderful things you all have had to say. Jesse was my best friend. We used to stay up late and do dumb kid stuff and always had a blast doing it. I remember keeping his poor mother up all hours of the night and always having fun. He was a brother to me and when he passed away I almost could not go on. Ive never lost someone so close to me and I will never forget him. He was and always will be my best friend as well as an American hero. Ive never met another who was so willing to go out of his way to help others. While his death brings each of us deep sadness we shall celebrate his life which was full of wonderful memories. We will always miss you Booty and we will never forget. Love, Josh Watson

Please know that just as your loved one will remain in your hearts and minds, his sacrifice and that of your family, will remain with the people he died defending. Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Jesse, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

As a friend of Jesse's I can say he was always an inspiration to everybody in our company. His death was hard on all soldiers, even if they didn't know him like his friends and family did. He was the kind of person if you were having a bad day he would do or say something to help you realize that it wasn't as bad as it seemed. He was a model soldier and a model son. WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

I AM A TRANSPLANTED BULLDOG, AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN HUMBLED AND MOVED BY THE STORY OF JESSE'S BRAVERY AND SACRIFICE. I READ THE STORY IN THE REPOSITORY WHEN JESSE DIED AND WAS DEEPLY TOUCHED BY ALL THE TRIBUTES, AND HIS LIFE STORY, AND FUTURE PLANS. I KNOW HOW HARD IT MUST BE TO LOSE A SON AND HUSBAND LIKE JESSE, BUT ALL I CAN DO IS SAY THANK YOU TO JESSE AND HIS FAMILY FOR HIS BRAVERY AND I PRAY THAT HIS SERVICE AND SACRIFICE WILL BENEFIT THE CAUSE OF FREEDOM IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND THE USA. I THOUGHT OF JESSE AS I FOLLOWED THE BULLDOGS VICTORY OVER MASSILLON IN THE BIG GAME. HE WOULD HAVE ENJOYED THE SPIRIT AND PRIDE SO MUCH, BUT I KNOW HE FELT IT IN HEAVEN. WE NEED TO PERMANENTLY REMEMBER JESSE AND OTHER HEROES AT FAWCETT STADIUM . HIS STORY OF BRAVERY NEEDS TO BE KNOWN TO GENERATIONS OF THE FUTURE.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy for your family. Being a military member and still having two more years of service left. I fear everyday that i will have to travel over seas and do what many wonderful young men and woman do over there. I am very proud to be a military member and serve with your son, your husband, and your father. I may not of known him but i can tell you he was very brave espically signing that dotted line during these rough times. We like to do a little ritual in my workplace and honor all military members who have fallen and are close from home. Pfc. Buryj will be remebered in our hearts and your family will be in our prayers. Thank you Jesse for being so brave from the bottom of my heart.

The Buryj Family,
I am so sorry for your loss i just happened to punch in on the internet Names of soldiers in Iraq and it brought me to our Fallen Hero's. I was in the military also i served in Desert Storm i know what it is like to spend time on forgien lands. It is always a scary feeling but you always have your family and friends on your mind and that is what gets us through that day. A life is the ULTIMATE SACRAFICE a person can give and this is what your family member did for my family and his own family and his country so we could keep our freedom.Always remember he is your families Guardian Angle and is always with you. There are two things that no one can take away from you and one is the memories that you have and the other is the feeling of being a PROUD PARENT OR A PROUD FAMILY MEMBER OF THIS YOUNG MAN WHO GAVE HIS LIFE. P.S I am also a Res.Police Officer for the city of Cuyahoga Falls.
Take care and GOD BLESS,

God Bless you child, you are a true military wife. Hold your head up high and be proud, your husband did his job and did it to the umpteenth degree. I know, I was once in your shoes myself. My husband was killed in Vietnam over 30 yrs ago. You will never forget but you will learn to cope and your life will move on, it has to. My husband and I were fortunate enough to blessed with a son. He is now with Special Forces, a medic...he wanted to accomplish what his father was not able to complete. The more the world changes the more it stays the same. Strange, I've just retired from police work so I know the drive your Jesse had to be a police officer. There's not another job like it.
This is the first time I have even had the courage to write this, my memories are as vivid as if it were yesterday but if the encouragement helps just a little I can make it through another hour.
For Jesse's mother, no loss is as great as that of a child...he was chosen and it was his time...it's that simple.....he was one of the best....
Have faith and may God watch over you....if for a moment, you stop and believe you feel a slight breeze.....it's only Jesse keeping watch over the ones he loves...God Bless
