Please know that just as your loved one remains in your hearts and minds; his sacrifice, and that of your family, remains with the people he died defending. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for his bravery and selflessness, or the heartache we feel for your loss. God bless and keep you always.

I had the privilege of going through boot camp with Brian in C070 at NTC Orlando in 1990. While initially quiet, Brian was singled out to serve as Master At Arms--responsible for making sure that everyone else did their jobs, and carrying the weight of everyone else's mistakes--he never complained and was always quick with a funny remark to lighten the mood. Living an arms-legth away you get to know someone's character, and Brian was one of the most genuinely likable and kind-hearted men I have ever met. He took us all on like little brothers and showed us how it was done. I can recall Brian and two of our shipmates returning after completing their EOD Quals--beaming and on top of the world. I cannot express how deeply saddening it is to learn of Brian's untimely passing in his service to our nation. Please accept my condolences for the loss of a GREAT American. I know he had the full measure of the respect of everyone who met him. Brian was the rarest of individuals. Your family is in our hearts and prayers. He will never be forgotten.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Brian, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

It has been a very wonderful experience knowing Brian. There are few people in this world that have made enough of a difference in my life for me to try to remember them always. Brian is one of those people! It won't be new for me to miss him as I retired and moved last year from the Virginia Beach area, so I have missed him for a while now. When I was there I would at least see him from time to time when he would come back to town. The sight of him has always invoked those feelings one gets from running into an old trusted friend from back in the day. The memories of great times, and fantastic conversations that only trusted friends can have. In this business of ours trust is so important yet so distant in many cases that when someone like Brian comes along you do whatever it takes to keep him around you and to be loyal to him no matter what the cost. I knew Brian as a loyal and trustworthy man to his friends, his mates and most of all; to our country! Everyone that can say they have met Brian should be proud. There are few such people in this world. Brian has stood in the gate for us and our country and the rights and well being of others to numerous for us to know at this time. There is no doubt in my mind that Brian has spent plenty of time in prayer for many of us, drawing himself closer to his Savior for this day that has arrived. I will miss Brian, yet, his work here is complete! I am glad that he has had the past three years. I am glad that I got the opportunity to know him. I feel it is better for him to have gone Home to live out Eternity in peace and happiness with Jesus, than to live with the silent memories of our fallen brothers. Good-bye my brother, you have served your country, family, friends and mates well. The leave you are on was hard won, yet well deserved. Marty

Brian was a wonderful man. I knew him for about 3 years, and he was funny, kind, smart and very helpful. In my opinion, to lay down one's life for a friend is a close we can get to being like Jesus, and Brian did that for us. May we never forget him or his sacrifice for us. I loved him, and am glad he was in my life.

It is amazing how sometimes when we meet new people that we learn that our lives crossed at earlier chapters in our lives. I didn't get to know Brian until around the year 2000, but I learned that he and I shared a common love for the game of rugby in the 1990s. We also shared a common love for a wonderful greasy Southern Breakfast at the Oceanfront on Sunday mornings. Those are the times that I will always best rememember Brian. Though I only knew him briefly, his impact on my life was profound. I will always remember him and honor his good-willed nature, service and sacrifice to our country. America is a great country because of men like Brian. For all the heroes in my life, he is a special one for me. God Bless Brian and his family.
Respectfully,

My deepest condolences to Brian's family.
I've known Brian for several years and am proud to say so. I've also had the opportunity to tell him how proud and grateful I am for his service to our country.
The sadness I feel is for my loss and the loss suffered by his family. I absolutely know where Brian is right now but I'm sad that we won't get to visit anymore.
Someone very close to me told me years ago I should always remember I can never be myself again without the influence and memories of the folks I've shared this life with. Brian is a special part of that and I will never forget.
