Justin I think of you so often and so many of my stories of my past have you in them. You always brought a smile to my face and you will always continue to with my wonderful memories of you. All of our wonderful track meet stories and our adventurous prom night along with so many more! You are so loved Justin and will forever be in my heart. I visited the wall in Marseilles, Illinois two years ago where all of the brave people are commemorated for paying the ultimate sacrifice for our country and found your name and left our picture there. I sat there for some time thinking of you and all you have done and all the hard work and determination and drive you always had. Justin you are my hero. Thank you for everything that you gave for us all. I love you Justin! You will forever be in my heart!

I was sending care packages to Marines in Iraq and L/Cpl. Hunt happened to receive one. He wrote me and asked if he could thank me via web cam from Iraq. I agreed, naturally. From that time on we became cyber buddies. He was such a sweet person and had the best smile. I will never forget his sweet manner. God bless you, Justin Hunt. I will honor you forever. To the Hunt family,
I know there are no words to say, except how sorry I am for your loss. May you hold Justins' memory in your heart and please remember he shall never be forgotten.
...For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

Father we entrust our brother Justin to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Justin in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathies.

I SAW YOU A FEW TIMES WHEN YOU WERE MAYBE 3 OR 4 YEARS OLD. YOU OBVIOUSLY GREW TO BECOME A FOCUSED, DETERMINED YOUNG MAN. YOUR FAMILY DOESN'T KNOW ME NOW AND NEITHER WOULD YOU. BUT, I KNOW YOUR SPIRIT LIVES ON AS ALL SPIRITS DO, PROTECTING THE LOVE ONES YOU LEFT BEHIND. NO SACRIFICE IN THE NAME OF SERVICE IS DONE IN VAIN, NO MATTER HOW UNFAIR IT SEEMS. HOPEFULLLY ONE DAY A WORLD WILL EXIST WITHOUT WAR, BECAUSE WAR ROBS US OF MANY OF OUR BRIGHTEST AND BEST.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Justin, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Justin-
Time flies, but there isn't a day that escapes where I don't think about you. And, I trust that you are keeping half an eye on all of us here. I'm not sure how else I could have made it this far. Well, until we meet again, I thank you.

If your child can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Le Ron (a dear friend) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

On Veterans Day especially, but on all days, I take a moment to think of and THANK Lance Cpl. Hunt for his sacrifice that allows my family and me to have PEACE and FREEDOM to enjoy in this land of opportunity, the USA. Those cherished feelings are only possible because of your efforts and dedication to duty and unfortunately your sacrifice of body, and that of your fellow brothers in uniform, to protect my family and I and give us a day to enjoy the beauty of this day. You will always be remembered as a beautiful day, forever shining upon some part of this world. I pray I have the chance to shake your hand and personally say THANK YOU when we get to meet in Heaven where I know you enjoy happiness and social comradeship with foregone family and friends. And I pray that your family might have Peace and Comfort this day and evermore in having had the chance to love you, if only for such a short time on this earth, as God had need of your help and called you to Him early to rest until we meet again. Thank you and your family for your courage, bravery, sacrifice and dedication to protecting us all; and may your family feel peace and warmth and comfort in having to have been able to share some moments with you and to be able to do so for Eternity soon ... the Brown's

I am truly saddened every time I hear of another person losing their life in this war. My heart goes out to you and your family. My family has always been in the military, in fact, my father was a marine, and he was very proud of that. I am sure that Justin was proud to be a marine and even prouder to be representing the United States in Iraq. We are the nation we are today, because of Justin, and everyone who has ever fought for or given their life for this country. Thank you!
