I served with Black in Germany and was stationed on Palowada with him during our year in Iraq. He was always dancing or teach me how to dance and he was so funny. We both had fun while in Live Wire and hitting the clubs near Schwienfurt and what not. I miss the times we had and I think about it a lot, even my wife is a runner and runs for him in a program call Run Blue to Remember in numerous marathons. In fact she will be running for him this year in the Army 10 miler in Pentagon City. Either way we miss bruh, keep dancing I´ll join on the floor when my time comes.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Curtis, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Curtis probably wouldn't even remember me. Maybe he would. We went to Thompson Elementary together. I have thought about him quite often since I heard he had died. I remember when he first came to thompson, my sister and I kept fighting over him. We thought he was the hottest boy we had ever seen. LOL. I think he was actually my "boyfriend" for a few days. Well, my thoughts and prayers are with his family. I'm sure it is still incredibly hard to live without him. God Bless.

His body might have left but he will always remain in our hearts. I will never forget his smile, the way he walked and talked or the way he`s helped his friends, with a smile, talking to them or just listening.. I remember Curtis as a party animal who couldn`t stand still at the club.. always dancing and moving around. And I am sure that in heaven the party goes on for him. To the family and friends
I have only just begun this journey and may not have known your loved one personally.
I extend to you my deepest condolences. No words will ever express the grief those close to this lost treasure are feeling. I can only say that I can share this grief as I too lost a loved one July 8, 2006. I will continue to pray for the safety of our soldiers and especially the family and friends of our lost hero’s. I only hope the memories will carry us through. I will continue pray that you also will believe and know that our heavenly father will not give us more than we can handle.
As always I read (and cry) through the memorials of our lost hero’s, So many people have already expressed the things I would also say. I am amazed and take comfort that so many people care. I can only thank you for the sacrifice you and especially Curtis have made to protect our country. As others have said “I am only an email away.” I would be honored if you so choose to share about this fine hero.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

He was such a nice and fine person and we still can't believe that he is gone. We still wait for him to come back.
We will always keep you in our hearts. We are glad to have met you and we will NEVER forget YOU! YOU were a great friend.
Our hearts and prayers go out to your family.

My Curtis! What to say. It goes back to the seventh grade at CJH! I believe it was you who taught me how to dance wasn't it? Whether it was playin some one on one or "rippin" the back of my neck after saying something crazy, I look back and cherish all these moments. Your friendship, humor, spunk, dedication and loyalty embraced us all and for that I love you. My heart goes out to your family at this time. Rest in Peace Curtis...we will meet again. With love, Brittany & Rey Rios

This is the one and only Mcqueen AKA-Shotta from the Caribbean Connection, Live Wire Entertainment Family. A few words and thoughts about the colonel Wooten, we met in 2002 and from then we became real close like a blood brother, he was my neighbour and i was always there for him when he needed.. Curtis was filled with energy and motivation, he always had a dream about the Live Wire family comming together as one big happy family and it is breaks my heart that he is not here physically wih us to see this happen, but i know as well as all the family that he is with us in spirit and soul.. Curtis was a poet in his own style he showed this through dancing and he dance like no one was watching and he had such a style to it, that we are all amazed the things he could do.
Curtis Wooten AKA Black, i know you are up in heaven looking down on your family and you are proud of what is taking place within us and we all will see you one day so keep walking, keep smiling and keep soaring to the highest my brother.. Live Wire & Caribbean Connection Family will always be together much love ONE...

I never knew you Curtis. You were
much too young to pay such a price
for your country. You served with
honor and will be an example for
generations to come.
I buried so many of you during
another war..so young..so brave.
May God Bless your Parents for
raising a Hero and know that a
nation mourns it's Heroes.

I don't know you or your son, I'm touched by his life just the same. He was a soldier. Soldiers are asked to fight and defend causes that are not of their making, and they do so willingly, pridefully. They are soldiers and that's what soldiers do. It was for me, my family and our way of life that Tre faught for and I am grateful. My God hold you in his arms as I'm sure he is holding your son.
