Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Rene Knox Jr.

US Army Sergeant.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

GETTING PROMOTED TO E5

October 11, 2007

August 17, 2007

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Psalm 23

1

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

3

He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!

Dear family of Rene Knox,

Today I participated in an interfaith memorial service for those who have died in Iraq. Rene was the name of the person whose marker I carried. It was a very moving and sad experience for me. The gray and rainy day seemed to echo the deep sadness that all present felt. I felt very close to Rene and his family, none of whom I had ever met. I was moved to to try to find out more about him and send a message to his family. Please know that Rene and all of you are in my prayers.

My heart truly goes out to Simone and the family of Rene Know Jr. I met Rene as well as Simone in Korea. We were all in the same unit and I have to say if it wasn't for them I would have never been promoted. Rene and Simone used to help me study as well as helped me put together my Class A's. Rene was a true friend always willing to help. Sometimes we all watched American Idol together. He was a great person and fun to be around. He will never be forgotten. Also pray for the rest of us that are still serving in Iraq to come home safely.

Eliria to God give the Glory for he will continue to be your rock and your strength. He has already shown you how he will bless you by having your husband and your son stand up and give their lives over to him. What a way to show us all that he is God and his will, will in fact be done. You guys did a fine job in raising a fine young man. My empathy goes out to the Knox family. I feel a closeness to you, eventhough I have not met any of your formally. I live across from Mr and Mrs. Rene Knox, Sr. (Hidden Lake Apartments, 109)which makes them my neighbors. I can still remember the morning that I overheard Mrs. Knox after receiving the horrible news; and being a mother myself, all I could do was just look at my child (who was sleeping) and just start praying. But... I can imagine that Rene would have told his mother this:

Do not stand at my grave and weep.

I am not there.

I do not sleep

I am a thousand winds that swiftly blow.

I am the diamond glint

on newly fallen snow.

I am the sunlight

on ripened grain.

I am the soft and gentle autumn rain

When you wake from sleep in the early morning hush,

I am the swift, uplifting rush

of quiet birds in circling flight.

I am the soft, starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.

I am not there.

I do not sleep.

MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN HIS LOVING ARMS ALWAYS!

To the family of SGT Knox: I only met Sgt Knox once and it was by chance. I let him in front of me at the shopette one afternoon and we started talking and I found out that he had been at Ft. Riley before going to Korea and then coming to Fort Stewart and that my nephew SSGT Dean Rhein was his leader at Fort Riley. I enjoyed our talk so much and admired his smile and friendliness. I talked to my nephew yesterday and he was the one that identified SGT Knox as part of his soldier family. I was devestated. Dean said that Ft. Riley is so saddened by the loss of such a good soldier, a good person, and a good friend. May God wrap his arms around your family and hold you all close to his heart and ease your pain and enlighten your memories. God Bless You and Sgt Rene Knox. Patricia E. Even though I had only met him twice he was a very generous person and welcomed me into him and his wife's home. I will miss him dearly and only wished that I was able to know him even better. My thoughts and prayers goes out to his family and wife.
