Yesterday in York, PA we had a memorial flag placement in a cemetery for all the fallen soldiers in Iraq. We had a special place for soldiers from PA. I placed Robert's flag and thought I should look him up b/c it was running through my mind. Sounds like he was a really great husband, father & soldier. My heart goes out to his family, as I have lost a good friend in Iraq and my boyfriend is currently stationed over there. Thank You Robert!

Three years have now gone by and it still feels like yesterday when they told me you would never be coming back to us. We miss you so much each day.
Rachael has grown up so quickly and has turned out to be a wonderful little girl. Her life is not the same without you. She remembers so much, but yet still forgets a little too.
I wish you could see her grow and be with her in her times of need and want, but I know in my heart that you are always with both of us.
There is not a day that goes by that we don't think about you and long for the next time we will see each other.
We both love you so much and there is nothing that will ever change that love.
You are our True Hero and the love of my life and your daughters.
We love and miss you

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Robert, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

With deepest sympathy for your terrible loss. Everyone at Operation Jersey Cares feels your pain. We love and support our troops. Robert may be gone but not forgotten!
August 14, 2007
There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

There is no difference being an Indian and an American so far the humanity is concerned. I have a daughter, five years old and I know what she means to me. The loss you have suffered as a wife and the loss the child has suffered can not be mitigated by few words of consolation. I pray to the God that he gives you all, enough strength to bridge the GAP, your Hall has left behind. God bless you. I pray deeply for your peace, happiness and a beautiful life so that you overcome all your agony without any difficuly.

Tribute to a Fallen Hero;
The price this Young Soldier and his family paid for this country will never be forgotten... Rest well in the arms of our Precious Lord, Robert E. Hall and may God's Grace and Comfort continue to be with the Hall family.
I am the sister of such a young hero, who made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Vietnam, many years ago.- Revelations 21:4
There is an inscription on a Gate at
Arlington National Cemetery that reads;
" Rest easy, sleep well my brothers.
Know the line has held, your job is done.
Rest easy, sleep well.
Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held
Peace, peace, and farewell..."

To the Family of Spc. Hall,
I have prayed for you before you knew of your loss. I was there in Iraq the day Robert loss his life. I prayed for you all then. I was looking over the paper this memorial weekend and there was a tribute to all those who had lost their lives. I specifically looked for Robert. I found him and it brought me to tears. I worked in the E.R. and I'll never forget that day or him. He has made a difference and touched many lives. My deepest sympathy for your loss of a husband, father and hero.

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

First, let me start by saying, I never knew your husband and Daddy, but I want to say "Thank you", for the sacrifice he made, for our freedom!!! I too work for Waste Management in Ca. and I read of Bob's passing in the WM Monday. I remember the day very clear, "We were told, "To fly the Flag at half mast", for one of our fellow employees had lost their life, in the war. It's always sad to hear of one passing, but when it's one of your own, it seems to hit harder. Please take comfort in knowing that, are thoughts and prayers are with your family. May God bless you and keep your heart always full of the fond memories!!! Take Care and God Bless,

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Hall and Beachem families. Bob and I went to school together from Kindergarten through Senior High. I haven't seen Bob since Christmas (I think it was four or five years ago), but still consider him a good friend. We were at Midnight Mass at St. A's. Bob was in his dress uniform, and if I remember correctly, very proud to be serving his country. I know I was proud of him. Bob was always such a competitor. I think we played every sport together. He was not easy to catch! I can only imagine that Bob fought for his country with the same spirit and determination that I witnessed on the ballfield for so many years. Mr. and Mrs. B, Lori, Tara, and Steven, my heart goes out to you. Tracie and Rachael, I wish I had the chance to meet you both. Please know that your husband and father was a great man, and I am very proud to call him my friend.

To Robert's Family, Relatives, Friends, and all Veterans: Our utmost thanks, praise, gratitude, prayers and condolences to all of you. How blessed we are in Pittsburgh to have such a noble, honorable, kind and gentle person, who, for the sake of his fellow Americans, "lay down his life" for them. It is truly what Jesus has called all of us to do for our friends. And, He called all of us "His Friends." May The Eucharistic Presnece at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, which Father will Consecrate, bring you Comfort, Joy and Peace, as only He can bring. May you know for all time that Robert is now "in the stars" with all who have lived and died for our great God and Country and Families. You have our deepest sympathy. May you find comfort in knowing there are people who really cares about your lost. May God give you the comfort and strenght to endure, day by day, in this time of deep sorrow. God promises that he will certainly render judgement among many nations and set matters straight respecting many people. And they will have to beat there swords onto plowshares and there spears into pruning shears. Nations will not lift up swords against nation, neither will they learn anymore.

My sincere condolences and humble thank you's to your family for providing you with strength and courage during your mission in Iraq. May they always speak proudly of your dedication to your Country, your troop and your beliefs. There is no more honorable life than one that is sacrificed for Freedom. May your soul rest in peace. May these words bring solace to your loved ones: "In the name of my peoples, I'd like to thank all...the American people for the sacrifices [for liberty]. The American nation should be deeply proud of its sons and daughters who have worked hard and who have fought hard for the best values of liberation and democracy in Iraq. With such tremendous morale, with such sometimes terrible injuries, they have braved tremendously and they bear their suffering for the sake of humanity, liberation and democracy. I would like to say to these patients and to the American people that these sacrifices have not gone in vain. Indeed we shall have a world that is free from terrorism and where the human right and democracy are respected." --Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari, after his visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington.

I had no idea Bob was even in the military until I heard the news of his untimely passing. My sympathy goes out to his family, especially his wife and daughter. He will forever remain a hero in my eyes and this incedent changes my feelings about today, Independence Day. God Bless Robert Hall. I know he will be sadly missed. Here is a poem called Honoring the Fallen...
I cannot help but think of those,
Whose anxious wait ended with a knock,
The wrenching ache felt deep down to the toes,
Knowing there was no more ticking for this clock,
Their brave loved ones served for our country’s sake,
Be it yesterday, today, and time yet known,
Giving it birth and to protect … not take,
Their ultimate sacrifice shown,
The blinding tears of TAPS being played,
The overwhelming sadness of the colors given,
The proud thought of the difference made,
The final salute to the fallen . . . now in heaven,
And while there is a special day,
That we honor the memory of the gift they gave,
It should go well beyond a national thought in May,
Like every time when seeing the flag wave!

Having lost a son to illness I can only say I share your pain. It is impossible to be grateful enough for your sons sacrifice. As we have been taught there is no greater love than to lay down one's life for a neighbor. Our prayers go with you all. JKM

Tracey, Rachel, and the Hall family, you all have our deepest sympathies at this time of loss. This came as a tremendous shock to us. At such a difficult time, we find it so difficult to find any comfort in such a tragedy. Please know that we recognize his position and duties, and hold them to the highest regard. Bob chose a path to defend and protect democracy and freedom. For those reasons, his life has not been lost in vain. We will remember him fondly, and hold his memory dear. He was a good friend, and we will miss him deeply. Again, our most sincere sympathies are with you all in this time of sorrow.
