My Guppy, my Baby Ruth... it's been almost 5 years now. So much has happened in that time and I wish I could just sit and tell you about every single detail...BUT, you're watching and you know. You know me and my heart. I can simply have peace in knowing that though you were taken from me in a terrible way, God wanted His time with you too. There are so many things I wish could be different but again, to God's will.

I miss you all the time and I think about where we would be now.
You are forever a hero in my heart. NEVER to be forgotten.

SGT Ruth,

I still remember the day it happened. I was in the tank. I remember LT Cleary calling me on the net. I think about you each and everyday. I have your bracelet, one that LT Cleary gave me, which makes it very special for two obvious reasons. RIP.

August 31, 2008

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Monta, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Our condolences, thoughts and prayers to your family...May Montas name stamped in steel forever be clutched in the tallons, and spirit forever soar in the symbol of our great nation.

August 19, 2007

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

After nearly two years people are still signing this book about Monta. That is proof enough that he was a special gift from God. Look at all the lives he touched and still is. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him. And it will sound strange, but I think he visited me after the funeral. I served my time in the military, but will be forever indebted to Monta and his family for the sacrifice they all made. We have all been blessed by his life on Earth.

Monta lived across the street from me and my family on Tise ave. in winston-salem,nc. The short times we spent together will remain in my heart forever. I always looked at him as a big brother. I remember how he'd come over and we'd sit outside for hours looking at the stars. Now when I look at the stars I think of Monta because he's looking down at me now. I remember riding home with him after North Forsyth vs Glenn's football game. I was so proud to know Monta was fighting for our freedom. Sorry I missed your funeral Monta but I didnt find out about your death until after the funeral. I went to the past two memorial services and visit your grave faithfully. Some may take freedom for granted but for me I'm thankful because you lost you put your life on the line for all of us. I love you and you'll forever live in my heart. When God took you he took the best.

To my family, my Auntie, Aylin, Zoe, and my cousins (Monta's Siblings) I know we are all still grieving, and I pray to God that he will be our strength. God honored us with a wonderful man, and also he honored us by allowing him to fight for us, and be taken away. There aren't too many brave men that would stand for both us, and our country the way that he did. Monta you will be remembered always, I love you, and we miss you. Zoe is doing great, she is a beautiful girl, I watch her grow daily. I know you are looking down on us proudly. We love you, and God Bless both you and our family.

The past 2 Memorial Days have been so different for me. I honor them more now than I ever did. A lot of men have fallen for our freedom. A really good man named Monta did also. I am so grateful for all he done so me and my children can sleep in peace at night in a great country. Not only me but everyone else. I knew him in high school and he always had a wonderful personality and a great smile that would make anyone smile. Thanks for all you have done Monta!

It has been a long hard year, for both myself and my family. We deeply miss this fallen soldier that brought sooooo much love and joy to our lives. At the same time we were supposed to be celebrating your 27 years of long life, we were mourning the loss of such a beautiful life. No one will ever understand how hard it is for us daily, to go on without you, unless they too have lost such a wonderful person. I miss you, little cousin, and I"m trying my best to help take care of your seed, Zoe. She's beautiful, and growing, and looking more and more like you everyday. (with that big ole head lol) Aylin and I teach her soooo much about you, and there's not a day that goes by, that she doesn't hear your name, or see your face. We love you sooooo much and miss you dearly. God bless your soul, and my Auntie's as well, because this has really been tough for her. We love and miss you baby boy!!

Sgt. Monta Ruth a great man. I was blessed to have worked with him and be assighned to the same platoon as him. I can remeber many nites I would meet up with him outside of our trailors here. We would talk about anything and everything. He was a very easy man to talk with. He was always talking about his family and how much he loved and missed his baby Zoe. To the dear family, I just wanted to express my sincere sympathy to you. Monta has been a fantastic friend. I remember so vividly the fun moments and the long in depth conversations we used to share. He will be remembered as a man of character and compassion. He left us doing what he loved to do. I never had the oppurtunity to watch him as a father and husband but I have no doubt that he had nothing but love for you both and God has sent some special angels to watch over you. My prayers are with you daily. My husband too is serving in Iraq for 18 months and I can't help but cry as I look over our daughter (also 3) and think "what if." My heart hurts so deeply for you right now and I wish that I could be there to offer comfort and support. I pray that those around you will lift you up and that a pure peace will come upon you. To the parents of Monta, thank you for bringing an amazing person into this world and for giving him the keys to have such a special presence about him. May you be blessed in all that you do. I can't wait to dance with him in heaven.

I am Monta's first cousin, and this has been one of the hardest things to happen to my family. He was one of the most looked up to men in our family, yet still being one of the youngest. I had just sent Monta an instant message on this tragic day, and it hurts my soul that it never reached him. MONTA, KNOW THAT WE APPRECIATED YOU MORE THAN WE COULD EVER SHOW, you taught us a lot, by just being you.

Aunt Barbara & Uncle Fred, although we've had this loss, know that he is looking down from heaven on us smiling. He did what he wanted to do.

Aylin, you are and always will be family. Cousin, Lin...We love you very, very, much.

Zoe, Mecca & I love you punkin pie, and daddy did too!!

To my other family, Nicky, DeeDee, EJ, Tabby, Kia, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family we will all have to still love him and stick together.

Monta you will never be forsaken, and definitely not forgotten. WE LOVE YOU!!!!!

I went to high school with Monta as well. And one thing I can tell you for sure is that I know Monta died doing what he loved doing; Serving his country! He exemplified what a soldier should be, and I sincerely thank Monta for what he did in Iraq!

My hope and prayers go out to Monta's wife, daughter, and other family members.

To Monta's family and wife, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I was in JROTC with Monta for two years in high school and during that time he always inpressed me with his "Can Do" attitude and spirt. I can't remember a time that I saw him where he did'nt have a smile on his face as he greeted me with "Whats up McKaughan..Hooha!" I never got the chance to tell him, but I have always thought of him as a true leader. Monta was a true inspiration to everyone who knew him. I will always strive to be like him. If I can ever help, please call me. (336) 655-1797

May god be with you, WE LOVE YOU! The Bolinsky Family.
