Johnson was a son to me and I did my best to save his life. He was a great soldier and he died in the most dangerous area of Iraq and the most dangerous time of the war. Adam Johnson is an American hero and he would have had a great military career. He learned more Arabic in a few weeks in Kuwait than the rest of the platoon did all year! I miss you brother and you are on my bracelet, in my heart and on my mind every Halloween and almost every day.

As I stood today in the Ohio State football statium singing the National Anthem, every military soldier and veteran were in my thoughts. When the Ohio State ROTC members stood at attention for the raising of the American Flag, I raised my right hand to the bill of my hat as the beautiful Red, White and Blue was pulled into the air. My heart pounded with pride. My thoughts were with you Adam and your Family. Life is a wonderful gift and you gave that gift to America. I want to thank you Adam and your family for my gift of freedom.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Adam, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Time goes by, and things change. I am now about to graduate and theres nothing I would like more than to have seen you there when I do. But I know that you will be there, and always have anywhere I go. I let small things get in the way of what is really important in life, but thinking of you and the things you taught me and still continue to teach me makes me realize that I just have to thank God for what has been provided for me and for the time I got to spend with you. I miss you and love you bro and we will all see you soon.

Adam,
Since you have been gone some things have changed, babies born, new jobs all the normal everyday stuff, but just know that one thing will never change, and that is that your family and friends will never forget you or stop loving you and missing you more everyday that goes by. Everything we know in our hearts tell us you should still be here with us, but your not, and because of that the pain of missing you will never heal, but we all know that you gave your life for us, so we could not be any prouder of you. Another year, we love you very much. Aunt Kim, Uncle Doug and family in michigan.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain, so I will not pretend that I know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Hey Adam, Tomorrow is the second Chirstmas that we have to spend without you here. Even though I know that you are going to be there when Connor is opening up his presents from Santa. I want you to know how much that you mean to this family. We all miss you, and wish we could spend one more Christmas with you. I know that when we are all gathered around the table tomorrow eating, talking, and joking around that we will know that you are there all around us. Your presence is always felt. Whether it's just a feeling, or you playing a practical joke on me, you are always there. I'll look up tomorrow and smile, because I know that you are smiling down on us. We Love You.

Dearest Fran and Family...
All of you have been on my heart the entire month of October. I would like to share with you the fact that my son SPC Christopher Tovar has sensed the presence of AJ on the battle field more than once. He said that AJ wrapped his wings around him in one battle and he feels kept him from harms way. Your very brave soldier is still very much at work for our beloved USA and lives in all our hearts. I just want you to know that although I did not get the opportunity to meet your son, I am very greatful for the Gaudian Angle he has become to my son when only AJ could understand his friends needs. Forever GREATFUL...

Adam,
As this month has gone on I have wondered what to say. It seems like just yesterday that we got that horrible call, but yet, it has been a year. I look back on all the entries in this guest book and it brings tears to my eyes knowing how much not just your family loved you, but also your friends and (your second family) the Harrisons loved you. It feels as if you are not gone, for your presence is still so strong in our lives. I still expect you to walk through the door leading with that wonderful smile. I think about all the times when you went squealing up the stairs because one of your brothers, Toby, or me chasing you and I laugh. Adam, I feel very grateful to have known you while you were here. Your attitude of “Everything is going to be okay” is one that we all should have. It hurts me to know that Connor will never get to hug his Uncle Adam. At the same time it comforts me that he will never be alone knowing that you will be there every step of his life as his Guardian Angel. I promise that Connor will know the boy that you had been, the man that you were, and the HERO that you became. You will be forever missed and in our hearts and memories. We love you Adam.

Celebrate my life with me today
Even though I've gone to heaven, I’m not very far away.
I'll still be having a happy birthday.Because I’ll see you all again someday.
My birthday is March 1st I’d be twenty three
No more sadness or tears if you want to get something for me
Think of me with a smile on your face,And laugh, please don’t cry.
I knew that if I fought in a far off place I might have to say goodbye.
I love you all and to fight was my choice.I fought for Us, God, Our Country and Freedom’s voice.
My birthday is March 1st I’d be twenty three
Remember all the happy times if you want to get something for me.

Dearest Johnson Family,
My son PFC Tovar, Christopher just learned of your tragic loss today, January 17th, 2006. They went through boot camp together at Fort Benning, GA. My son was devestated by the news. He and PFC Fink, Eric considered Adam to be a very close friend. While Adam served with the 2nd BN, Tovar and Fink were placed with the 1st BN. Your brave son was still able to make time for his friends at Fort Campbell, KY. They watched movies together and looked out for each other. My son would like for me to tell you that your son was one of the finest soldiers he ever served with and he will be missed. May your broken heart be healed by knowing how greatful we are for your sons bravery and ultimate sacrefice. Adam will never be forgotten and you are in our prayers always. Christopher is still in Iraq but his heart is in Ohio tonight.

Adam Johnson was a very special young man. He excelled at everthing he did. He made friends easily and kept them forever, as evidenced by the outpouring of sympathy and support in this Guest Book. I only knew Adam for a little over three years, but he always had a positive attitude and an ever-present contagious smile. I have witnessed a deep love of him by his family, and his love for them. Adam actually had three families, his own, the Harrisons and the United States Army. From the notification of his death to and through the military funeral, it was evident why he chose the Army, a very special group of people. My prayers are with all of A.J.'s families. I know this brave solider is watching over you from Heaven.

Many thanks for the support A.J. has given to the United States Military. I went to Northmont and joined the Navy, and know that it is a route that not many take from our area and I am so thankful that his family and friends were supportive of his wishes to join. It is a lucky soldier who has had the constant support of his family from afar. His brothers and sisters in the service will be thinking of all who knew him during this difficult time...we have lost one of the good ones for sure. He will not be forgotten! God Bless...

I have had the pleasure of knowing AJ for many years now. Unfortunately though, I have been out of touch in recent times; however this has not let me to forget anything about AJ or let his image fade in my mind at all. AJ was an amazing person/friend/brother/son/hero. I cannot remember a single time that there was not a smile on his face...unless he was pulling a prank that required him to play a serious role. AJ was a great friend and his passing is a huge loss to our country, our community, and to every individual who was blessed enough to have had AJ touch our lives before his death. AJ will be, and already is, extremely missed and can never be replaced or forgotten. I am honored and privileged to have been able to call AJ Johnson one of my close friends and he will forever hold a place in my heart. Rest in peace AJ, and thank you for your time spent with us.

Adam will never be forgotten. I remember him from as far back as elementary. He was always smiling. He is true hero to this country, and I am proud to say that I knew him.

I met AJ at 30th AG in Fort Benning. There was a crew of about 10 of us that hung out together for the week of in processing before they sent us to the drill sergents. It was a great week, we shared a lot of laughs. AJ was a fantasic guy. He will surely be missed. God Bless

I met AJ when he came to my church for a special military service right before we both deployed. I don't know him that well, but I know that anyone who goes through the things we do to get here must endure alot. I have no doubt it made him stronger and I am sure he touched many lives. I want to take a minute to tell you what I told my mom, when I heard about what happened. I want you to know that because of brave guys like him, soldiers like myself get to travel down those same roads safely. Only God know why things happen the way they do, but because of his life a country is that much closer to a freedom they have never imagined in their entire lives. I have seen and talked to the Iraqi people who treat us like royalty. You can see the appreciation in everything they do, and even more in their eyes. Their lives will never be the same because of sacrifices like the one AJ was not afraid to make. "In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory." Ephesians 1:11-12. May God Bless you during this difficult time. Know that AJ and his dedication will never be forgotten!!

To the Johnson family: It seems like yesterday that the boys (AJ & Aaron)played on the select soccer teams; thank you for opening up your home to the team. Aaron has often mentioned the time spent relaxing after their games at your home and enjoying your pool. We would like to express our sincere sympathy to your family, and let you know that we will be remembering you in our prayers. Aaron #14 sends his love from Atlanta. May God keep you in his care, especially during this difficult time.

fran,randy,matt,brad and ryan:
I remember going over to your house after a long day at footlocker and Adam dragging me out to play soccer with him against his brothers(we usually won) his smile and boundless energy i remember still even though it has been over 14 years. I can understand how he became such a good goalie because he "VOLUNTEERED" to be goalie by his brothers so we could all shoot on him. I wish I could have seen him play in high school, i understand Adam was a very, very good goalie. As a person i have read what others have said about him and knowing his mom and dad I understand where he learned some of his great character traits. My heart and prayers go out to you all and I hope to hear from and see you all sometime soon.

There are no words to express my sorrow for your family. I will always remember Adam as a little boy with a huge smile hugging Fran. I remember watching his first soccer games and even at a young age you could tell how talented he was!
I was very lucky to become friends with Fran and Patty at a young age before I had my children. Fran, you were a role model for me to be a devoted mother. I watched you totally devote yourself to your boys. You showed me how important it is to be your kids #1 fan...and how much pure joy you can have being a mom...
Randy and Fran...you were blessed with four amazing boys...my heart and prayers are with you.

Although I have not kept in touch regularly with AJ over the past 5 years, every once in a while we would bump into each other, and I found that he hadn't changed a bit. Still one of the most genuinely nice persons I have or ever will know. I am proud to say that I knew and played on the same soccer field as AJ and I am forever thankful for the sacrifice he gave to protect the freedoms of not only our country but our right as a human race. He will be greatly missed and my condolences go out to his family and friends.

AJ's Passing was shocking to me, and I thank him for the sacrifice he made for our country. My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to the Johnson and Harrison Families.

I am so proud of my son Adam. God gave his mother & I the honor of raising him & his 3 brothers. I will forever miss his smile & sense of humor. My family & I have nothing but good memories & times with Adam.
My family & I are thankful for all the phone calls & notes of encouragement & sympathy. They have been of great comfort to us. As a father, my heart is breaking right now. But I also want to express my pride for the 3 brave heroes that also lost their lives with Adam. My thoughts & prayers are with them & their families as well. I am proud of everyone that wears the military uniform & puts themselves in harms way. I pray for their safety & for their families to be granted strength while they are away. Adam was a great judge of character, I know this because of all the wonderful friends he had. Adam will always be a hero to all that knew him. He served his country well. He never expressed doubt that going into the army was wrong. He called me just before he got on the plane to go to Iraq & said that his unit was tired of waiting because their departure date had been moved back a week. He said he wanted to get over their & get to work. He was excited about being in the army & proud of the brave men in his regiment. I hope to contact the families of the other heroes that were with Adam.
I look forward to the day when I see AJ's great smile again & he says "welcome home Dad".

I don't know what else to say about you other than you are Adam. And I love you more than I was ever able to show. I love you. I wish these words could express just how much.

Knowing the kind of person Randy is, and having met the boys on other occasions, I feel it is my loss not having to gotten to know Adam personally. Randy, you and Fran have raised a wonderful family. You should be very proud of the people they have become.
Love to all of you, and God bless the USA.
