Happy Birthday Peter!!! Every time February hits, I still always remember. I will never forget you or your birthday. I may not be out there posting as much but not a day goes by still that I don´t think about you or Dan. Of all the things I´ve seen or witnessed since you both have gone, I still can´t help but think how it would´ve been much better to enjoy had you guys stayed with us just a bit longer. All the laughs, the movies, the basketball games or moments shared would´ve been great just knowing it had you in it´s presence in some way. Many of those events had become much less exciting over the years so I´m not sure you would´ve been jealous to being as old with the lot of us seeing it all pass by. But even if you were here and we had lost touch or just became friends added onto a list of social media, it still would´ve been nice to see you having a family or at least being somewhere in the world, knowing you were still alive in this experience with us.

When Kobe passed away last year, it hit me because I always remembered how big a fan you were of his. You had that huge poster in your locker, pictures of him in your binders and room while even having some of Kobe´s first pair of shoes. I can still hear your voice saying "Kobe to Shaq, Kobe to Shaq!!" whenever we passed or threw something to each other. You also really took pride in the fact that he also lived in Italy, which you had also done prior to living in Spain. So for me, losing Kobe hit that much more not only as a laker fan as well, but that he was also much more as a feeling and connection I had with you too in the past. It almost felt like I was losing you twice in some way. Like a story or part of the world in time that only I can seem to remember with a certain few whom were also there to experience it with us. And to see it all getting taken away for him in such a tragic way also brought me back to you in being with how similar it all felt. How it doesn´t make sense at all to have any tragedy happen to the best of us. But I know you guys are in a much better place than this one to keep up with. You, Dan and Kobe are probably up there now hooping it up, finally getting the chance for all you guys to meet. "Peter to Kobe. Kobe to Dan!" heroes this world only got see a glimpse of in a lifetime. You really had to have been there to witness it.

It´s been a blessing just knowing you guys were a part of it all.

I´m going to leave you with this picture of a picture that I took from when I last saw Ben back in 2010. It´s been years since I saw him but when I finally did, he said he had still kept this picture hidden in his wallet after all these years! I don´t remember us taking a lot of pictures but it´s still something I look at it whenever I feel like I´m forgetting you guys.

Somewhere out there is a locker with a Kobe poster still hanging up, and others will still have pictures of friends that were here.

Hello,

We apologize for being so late in expressing our deepest condolences to you and your family. We want you to know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this holiday season and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Peter Joseph Navarro US Army Specialist.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families, friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

I just saw your dedication plaque in the lobby of the Ballwin post office. I'm sitting in my car researching and appreciating your dedication, family, the sacrifice of so many and the circle of love that very obviously surrounds you these 8+ years since your passing. Thank you is never enough. You are remembered and held in prayer today, by a passing stranger, who doesnt have the words to express his gratitude for your sacrifice.

A Soldier had die out on the
battlefield;

Broken hearts are weeping For
Them,

But take comfort of knowing
that God had sent Them a
rainbow from heaven;

The Souls of the Soldiers
have gone to there home
in heaven,

Our Loved One's has follow
God's lovely rainbow in the
sky;

All the way to the end of the
sky.

That leads all the way to the
other end of the Lord's
house in heaven,

So just keep on praying and
trust that God will send us
that same rainbow in the sky;

Where Our Loved One's are
waiting For You and For Me at

Peter,

It's been a couple years now and I still think of you and reminisce. I know you're up there and probably already know. You were one of the best in people that I'll ever know; I love you, and respect you, this day, and on forward until it's my day to come home. Rest easy my friend, to the Navarro family, if you don't remember me from Spain, or either way, know that I still have Pete in my thoughts and prayers, and you will see me throughout the years continue writing here.

To the Navarro Family:

Jose and Rowena I pray for your comfort. I am a mother of two and grandmother of five, and I can't even begin to relate to your pain. When my brother died, my father said there is NOTHING like losing a child. Through it all,I do know that God can heal and bring you comfort.

What a brave man Peter was to say "they would be one man short". What an amazing human being! Jose honored our Nation by serving as well. God has blessed you with amazing men in your family!

Stay strong and encouraged, you are never alone!

Yours in Christ,

florence

In Memory of Peter and Daniel ~ (Debra Estep)

December 14, 2008

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Peter, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

After reading of the loss of his
brother Daniel... I extend my
sympathy.

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Peter Navarro,

When I heard of your death it felt as if I had lost my own child. Watching you grow up in Rota shooting hoops with Taurean, Terrell and the gang riding mopeds where the greatest times. You lived life like there was no tomorrow/I'm so blessed to have known you young man. Now, as my boots tread on the Afghan soil I think of your ultimate sacrifice/the impact you made on the lives of others in your short-time on earth. Thanks Peter for giving it all to make our world a better place. Rota's own will never be forgotten. GOD, thanks for allowing Peter to be a light to the world.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Peter. I know your in heaven and you've listened to my cries several times. It was my biggest regret ever not to say good bye. Even if it's almost a year, I still think about you and Dan, sad that your gone from this plane, happy that your in a better more peacefull place. I love you man, and I still always think of you, until God calls me home too. I've yet to get the time and money to come see you where you rest. So I guess I'll finally take this guest book (that I finally just found), and pay my respects and give you a more formal farewell.

I want to express my deepest condolences to you on the loss of Peter. Our country lost a courageous soldier, but most importantly your family lost a son,friend and grandchild.

I know the pain you are going through, as I recently lost my cousin Adam in Iraq. His general told me to remember this above all else... Our boys are heroes in the way they led their lives, not just in their deaths. They left the comfort of home and family to go to unknown dangerous places, to improve life for others. It takes a very special, selfless person to do that.

All of you had a hand in making him what he was, so you should be extremely proud to have raised such a brave and unselfish man. A man who stood up for the flag and for those who had no one willing to speak up for them. I want thank you for your part in making him what he was.

Lastly, thank YOU, Peter, for putting everything you had on the line for freedom."
